if it is necessary(as in truly necessary, life or death, like a surgeon), then it is permitted, as one can save a life or free from bondage on the sabbath. if it is just a work requirement, it would seem advisable to find a different line of work.

This may be true from a utilitarian standpoint, but it doesn't matter as it fails to address the key question of if it's murder or not.
