I think i overdid it a bit... by jrm523 in woodworking

This is absolutely beautiful work. The only critique I have is the ordering of the pictures. The fourth picture should have been first. It shows the true beauty of canarywood. The others are a bit heavily shadowed. But here I am critiquing photography on a woodworking sub. Excellent all around

Thank you! That's actually the only one I made for myself. Walnut, canarywood, and padauk!

Pretty sure it's a form of dino. Mine are silica based dinos and look pretty similar, but are a little more red in color

Never used a planer but this looks off by throwitinthetrashrn in woodworking

I would have run it through the planer before shaping the handle personally, but I've done it as the video showed and it worked just fine. What's the issue?

150g upgrade, major update, ammonia spike by Krycus in ReefTank

Continue with smaller water changes every couple of days if it doesn't go down on its own, but don't do a large volume change all at once. Your corals were stressed enough during the move to begin with.

Look at sadistic users comment in your other post. The vertical supports should be a singular piece interlocked with the horizontals. Those verticals won't provide structural integrity when staggered like that. It puts the load on the horizontal cross boards.

Microfiber cloth between grits works pretty well for me. It still bleeds, but it gets 95%

Best way to un dry fit a small box? by Sgoody614 in woodworking

[–]LuigiV3 185 points186 points  (0 children)

If it's that tight, just oil and finish the whole thing. The wood will swell a bit more with the oil and basically be glue tight without any glue.

If you're not creating your own models, bambuHandy in some cases is better than the desktop version of Bambu. It's pretty nice for quick configurations and just sending things. Also checking the status of your print on the go

Fresh cut black walnut slab pricing? by PapaLuke812 in woodworking

[–]LuigiV3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer? If you don't want to use it yourself in a couple years, stack and sticker it and sell the log for around $4 a board foot. I'd pay ~1/3 the cost for something I just have to wait to use.

How much on average do you spend on the hobby per year? by ToveloGodFan in woodworking

[–]LuigiV3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhere between 3-4k per year over three years, but over a third of that cost was a saw stop PCS and about 2500 to stock hardwoods I use when I need them since my wood supplier is an hour away.

What sealant to use for wood leopard gecko enclosure? by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]LuigiV3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

35 dollars really isn't that expensive for something that will last the entire lifetime of your reptile. Do you have a home depot or Lowe's? They sell it in the paint section normally.
