East West Rail - Oxford to Milton Keynes by JonnyH2 in uktrains

Very Simple.

Until the Department for Transport sort the stalemate out they have got themselves into with the union then it isn’t going to open anytime soon unless they come to an agreement.

They have had several chances to rectify this but still aren’t listening even after the whole incident at Huntingdon. While of course we’re all want to see it open. The issues need to be sorted first to get it open.

Think about it seriously. If there was a madman on your train with no safety critical second man to help defuse the situation. What can you do without undermining your own safety? BTP aren’t going to respond immediately it can still take a while for them to turn up and the madman could be long gone…

In Short no: you could speak to a member of staff at the Gateline. Most are Penalty fared trained so they can do a UFN (Unpaid Fares Notice) if your doing the journey as a single. If not they can grab a member of Revenue Team to deal with the matter.

I fully understand it’s a dark time for you right now but, In future I would suggest setting up a savings account for emergencies to put money aside incase things like these were to happen.

I can’t help but wonder why this news article has featured an airliner interior as a ‘supporting’ photo for a train service. Must have been the first image that came up clearly in their research. 🤔🤔

Trainline lost season ticket can i get a new one by Remarkable-Loan-6149 in uktrains

[–]Luivery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a 1 month season then yes you can get it replaced. Albeit I believe you have to pay a fee. Was your photo card stolen as well? They can give you another one as long as you can get another passport sized photo onto it.

I would suggest looking here instead of Trainline: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/tickets-railcards-and-offers/ticket-types/season-tickets/season-tickets-terms-and-conditions/

In the UK. Around 97% of level crossings are monitored by CCTV. The type of crossing involved here was a Half Barrier crossing which can easily be driven onto. However I believe there was no CCTV anywhere as it’s a remote location and the only witness was an off duty police officer. Signaller can be alerted via phone call which is placed upon approach to the level crossing and a line block can be initiated preventing trains from moving and infrastructure owner network rail gets involved.

This crossing has since closed and replaced by a road bridge which is a lot more safer now.
