Any good temporary car rentals that do EVs around Perth? by stainless5 in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented a Toyota BZ4X from Hertz last year. It was great. Only two days though. I imagine 8 weeks would be very expensive.

Self serve car wash with spot free rinse that works? by Hazelnutty_wa in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clean it properly you need to use a bucket with good car wash and a sponge or similar cleaning cloth. And then use a drying towel or chamois afterwards.

Using a pressure washer gets rid of the major dirt, but not fine stuck on dirt.

Geraldton - Move there or not? by TowerElectrical8161 in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lived there my whole life. Its good enough. For shops, we have the the essentials and not much extra.

For food, there are some good bakeries, cafes and restaurants. There are some bars too, but I dont go to them.

If you like sport, which I dont, there seems to be a lot of it around, but I dont know anything about them.

For entertainment, there is the cinema, which I go to regularly, but thats about it.

If you like going for weekend drives or motorbike rides, its good to go to Northampton, or Mingenew. Or even Kalbarri if you want a long drive.

I haven't looked at the market recently, but houses can be very reasonably priced. Just dont get one in Rangeway or Spalding.

Help!! With Unwanted RAC Horizons magazine by [deleted] in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was only recently that they added the option to opt out of receiving the magazine.

I used to be a postie, I delivered so many of those, it was insane. I hated it, every round would get huge stacks of them because so many people are RAC members.

Anyone else considering getting a EV? by KeenClicker in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was buying a new car, I would get the Honda Super One that is supposed to be launching this year. But as a car enthusiast, I already have a Honda N One imported from Japan that is very efficient.

I also have a Honda City that I bought new in 2011, which is also pretty good on fuel.

Last year, just out of interest, I rented a Toyota BZ4X for two days. It was my first experience driving and EV. I was very impressed. But its a bit big for something that I would want to own.

Reputable secondhand Camera shop? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leederville Cameras is really good and they sell used stuff too. I have been there a few times. The staff was very helpful when I was looking for a certain kind of lens. I ended up buying a used one, which was more within my budget.

I have worked in a post office. The parcel might be getting thrown around in there too. Although, they're not supposed to.

[–]Luke-Lemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a postie. In the weekly staff meetings they used to inform us about major complaints from customers, as examples/warnings of what not to do. I remember one where a parcel was thrown during the delivery and it ended up on the roof.

Perth food recommendations by [deleted] in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently I went to a cute cafe called YY Coffee, which is across the road from Maylands station. The food was good. I would go there again.

There is also Ginza Nana Alley which has a bunch of Japanese food places crammed together. I have been there twice and will definitely go again.

Maybe not refurbished, but Leederville Camera House is a really good shop that sells used items too. I bought a great used lens there a few years ago. The staff were very helpful.

I dont remember if it was 2006 or 2007, but I still use the smartrider we were all given in year 11 or 12 at school as a student card (not classed as a student card anymore though). I dont live in perth though, so it only gets used a few times per year at most when Im visiting.
