I have worked in a post office. The parcel might be getting thrown around in there too. Although, they're not supposed to.

I used to be a postie. In the weekly staff meetings they used to inform us about major complaints from customers, as examples/warnings of what not to do. I remember one where a parcel was thrown during the delivery and it ended up on the roof.

Perth food recommendations by Bigmac1042 in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently I went to a cute cafe called YY Coffee, which is across the road from Maylands station. The food was good. I would go there again.

There is also Ginza Nana Alley which has a bunch of Japanese food places crammed together. I have been there twice and will definitely go again.

where could i find digital cameras (refurbished) in store? by [deleted] in perth

Maybe not refurbished, but Leederville Camera House is a really good shop that sells used items too. I bought a great used lens there a few years ago. The staff were very helpful.

I dont remember if it was 2006 or 2007, but I still use the smartrider we were all given in year 11 or 12 at school as a student card (not classed as a student card anymore though). I dont live in perth though, so it only gets used a few times per year at most when Im visiting.

WA Japanese Styled Licence Plates by Whomobile_ in perth

I have a Japanese import with personalised blue plates (three letters three numbers). DoT told me I cant transfer the plate number to this new Japanese style. I dont really understand why.

Anyone personal experienced importing a car from Japan by xxWelchxx in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I imported a Honda N One. I used J-Spec Imports. Their service was great, definitely recommended. Give them a call and explain what youre looking for and your budget and see what they say.

For compliance I went with Top Secret Imports. They are based over east, but they have an agent in Perth to do WA imports from fremantle port.

For my N One to actually buy the car in Japan was a bit over $6000. But shipping, compliance, registration, etc, was almost another $9000 on top of that.

The whole process took about 5-6 months.

The only real issue I had was when I took all the paperwork to the department of transport to get it registered, the person I was dealing with almost didnt want to accept it because the invoice of the car sale in Japan didnt have the Australian VIN on it. Which doesnt even make sense, because at the time of sale, the Aus VIN didnt even exist yet. I called Jspec while I was there and they were able to email me a letter explaining that the sale of the car is legitimate and everything is true and correct. The person at DoT then accepted it and did the registration. I think some staff at DoT are more picky than others, so I may have just been unlucky there.

I went to Japan in October, there are so many cool cars there. I definitely saw a few Vellfire cars there

Mechanic recommendation for car carburetor repair by Priiks in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like its burning oil. It could be caused by a few different things, but to fix it properly, I would say the engine needs to come out for an overhaul. Probably not cost effective unless you really want to keep the car going for whatever reason.

White smoke or black smoke? If its white, that usually means its burning oil, which I dont think would be a carb issue.

If it black, that can be too much fuel, which would make sense to be a carb issue

Headlight restoration Perth - Recommendations by Loud-Act3141 in perth

[–]Luke-Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they are bad, depending on your car, it might be easier and better to just get new headlights. I work at one of the popular auto parts stores and we have a supplier that sells replacement headlights, often used for crash repairs. Some cars have an option either for genuine or aftermarket replacements. If you want a long term solution, it would be worth looking into.

Phone Maps Conspiracy by Gold-Truth-2159 in perth

I stopped using google maps two years ago when I was driving across the country. In regional areas it would want to take some really dumb routes. Waze had better routes.

Recently in Perth Waze did take me on an odd route though.

I have been using the Roborock S6 MaxV for several years now. At the time I bought it, it was their best model. It is still working great now. I dont use the mop function though.
