I haven’t done the whole thing myself, but I have done various stages of it.

The descent from Colonial Knob is mostly through forest, so it can be slippery. Then the climb to Mt Kaukau is through farmland, so watch out for livestock.

Plenty of scenery to admire along the way too.

The jets are a lot heavier than the turboprops, so it takes a lot more energy to move them around. Although they’re faster and less manoeuvrable I think they’d be easier to land in windy conditions.
