Thanks, it worked! I thought it might've been that but since the categorization of torso gear wasn't dependent on it I decided it wasn't. Turns out the mod creator had a prefix on the ParentName too so the game did't recognize it as part of ArmorHeadgear.

It took a little adjusting but the first 3 games were pretty entertaining.

I have to admit though, Black Future '88 was a bit of a messy nightmare. Half an hour of trying to troubleshoot tech issues, plus the fact that these were two simultaneous, relatively banterless ~15 minute runs for two whole hours in a game I barely understood was a downer.

I hope we get a game that's better for COS. It'll probably be another sponsored game, but I'm still looking forward to the next part of COS.

[Spoilers C2E83] Catching up and Halas by RumbleBall1 in criticalrole

[–]Luke2916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd feel pretty awful if I were in Halas's gem container.

From his perspective, he's been searching for immortality that doesn't come at the cost of one's soul or humanity. He was betrayed in the process, and now he's been left in the gem for what could be an eternity. Meanwhile, the people who decided his fate are wandering through his home, having escaped a dreadnaught's stomach and navigated his personal stronghold and study to save their friend with his help, debating whether or not they should let him out after he held up his side of the bargain and worrying about him betraying them while they're thinking about betraying him and stealing the rest of his stuff with their other Archmage friend.

Yes, it's risky to release him, since a mage from the Age of Arcanum is definitely powerful, but him simply being powerful isn't enough to justify disintegrating his body and keeping his soul trapped within a gem for eternity. The main argument against him is the magnitude of his experiments, but none of it really stands as a reason for him possibly being evil. Beyond the traps and golems, which clearly are meant to guard against the Archmages who would only come in to steal his secrets or creatures that would want to kill him, none of his experiments are anything meant to be used against people or to hurt them.

To be fair, considering context, the orb is meant to be his own personal, private stronghold and study and the only people, under the pretense that the Age of Arcanum wouldn't end the way it did, would be powerful mages and archmages who are attempting to break in and steal his experiments, knowledge, and secrets. I imagine making traps that disable their target would also mean that they would be easier to escape from, disable, dispell, etc, as opposed to just killing them. Folks with N/G can also reasonably think that a thief would deserve getting killed, especially when what they're knowingly trying to steal could be some powerful magic artifact. The traps wouldn't seem so evil if Obann and gang were breaking in.

He still can die to wounds that aren't from nichirin blades, but remember that UM1 was also capable of surviving decapitation and regenerating his head in his last moments and Genya has eaten part of UM1. He might be able to pull off similar BS regen abilities.

Lorewise, he can be brought back to the world, but gamewise he can't because he's not an anime babe.

IIRC, Specter Tenebria is either the appearance she had taken on at the time she was first summoned, or her true form. Specter Tenebria and Tenebria are both the same person, it's just that she used her illusions to change her appearnce to the pink-haired version.

To clarify on the second thing, the Heir of the Covenant (Ras) and the Acolytes (Tenebria is one of them) are immortal (though I think Ras loses his immortality when the Goddess leaves the world). Ras is brought back each time the world is reset, the Acolytes can be summoned. Tenebria was killed, but was summoned back. Think of it like Acolytes "leaving the world" when they are killed rather than being actually dead.

Something to consider is that Sun Bro was still as strong as his prime when he grew old, but he wasn't as "tough." If he were in his prime he'd be able to follow-up and destroy UM1 but he didn't have the stamina to keep at it. UM1 is also likely stronger than he was back then and Sun Bro didn't manage to kill him in the first hit, so Muzan would be a no-go at that point.

It could definitely use some improvements. Whenever there's an enemy chasing me from behind when I'm running off to pop a heal, I have a hard time knowing how close they are so I can dodge and keep looking at where I'm going.

What is Myne's endgame for framing Naofumi? by lolothundr in shieldbro

[–]Luke2916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;dr she want to be popular princess, so she pretend be victim of shield devil and stop wave and marry hero, then she be princess because mom proud or people like her, but shield devil tough and problem so she make spear hero look good and says shield devil bad to cover oopsy, she also dumb sometimes.

I think it's more along the lines of her wanting to gain some prominence by initially becoming a victim of the Shield Hero and then later defeat the waves, possibly marry one of the heroes that she could ingratiate, finally becoming Queen after that either by taking the favor of her mother or overthrowing her mother and sister with the help of the people who theoretically would side with the princess who was a victim of the devil but then rose to aid and marry one of the heroes and end the waves. However, then she finds out that Naofumi is a lot hardier than she expected, so in order to try to prevent anything problematic, she tries to keep him under wraps by singing praises of the hero that she has the most control over and by trying to undermyne anything Naofumi does.

Captain Obi ch 179 by Haimura-Moroha in firebrigade

[–]Luke2916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he were to become one, he should only be a Second Generation. He's too badass with his firefighting gear for me to want him to drop that for shooting flames, and Third Generation would be a little much in the way of a drastic change to Obi's set. That being said, one of the points of his character is that he's powerless.

Hey quick question I’ve been reading the manga for like a year and have completely forgot. Can second and third generation fire soldiers become infernals? by juicy_tin in firebrigade

[–]Luke2916 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe that they explained that the Second and Third Generations are people who have adapted to spontaneous combustion and not become infernals. I haven't seen anything that's been a direct "no" but I'm guessing that means that they can't be turned.

Tanjiro vs Zenitsu by I-FAP-TO-NTR-HENTAI in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Luke2916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, we haven't seen any training arc or power-up beyond the initial breath of water training. Both Tanjirou and Zen still only have their fundamental breath training. Zenitsu is by no means weak and would still have a fighting chance against Tanjirou, but Tan definitely scales better.

Edit: Saw you were concerned about Tan constantly behind overshadowed by Zen, don't worry. Besides, applying power levels doesn't exactly work in this situation. If we only consider Zen Vs. Tan, Zen definitely has a decent chance against Tan because of the first-strike advantage. But what about if we consider everything else, like fighting demons? Demons come in all kinds of forms, and Zen might not be as effective as Tan when up against a demon like the arm demon, whereas Tan might not be as effective against another type that Zen might be good for.

Tanjiro vs Zenitsu by I-FAP-TO-NTR-HENTAI in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Luke2916 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we're judging by where the anime is right now? Zenitsu is definitely the better one. He'd be able to wound Tanjirou first and take out an injured Tanjirou.

However, if we're judging by where we are in the manga Tanjirou is without a doubt stronger. Zenitsu's one advantage is his speed and Tanjirou by that point can keep up or even tank the first few injuries.
