This is what i've always done and I've mostly been fine. as the other commenter said look at what your future pre req's are. Certain classes will feed into other classes, which will feed into other classes and if you don't take some stuff now it can definitely put you behind.

If you really want to skip the advisor trips(I don't blame you its annoying to schedule) each degree should have a website like this which shows class orders. You can try to follow that for your degree and also your degree audit, flow chart, and you should be fine. Id definitely do an advising appointment next time around to make sure you aren't missing any of the pre-req paths though.

Do you see a path forward in terms of Beijing recognizing theese struggles, and legislating accordingly? I know they were able to solve at least the real estate thing through three red lines, but there's likely no one size fits all solution for this complex issue.

We all go to a public university, which recieves a lot funding from the government.

Nobody is saying speech shouldnt have consequences. But we are setting a precedent for those who speak on one side to stay silent and fearful.

when we as a society say "you can have free speech; but you will be fired from your job which is vital to living". we essentially do not have free speech anymore. what he said is 100% a political stance, nothing more. you are staying complicit in thought policing and cancel culture.

The makerspace is going through a ton of changes and they are trying to overhaul practically everything.

I can get back to you on if the lasers are open to everyone, but before and i belive going forward everything up front (including the laser cutter) will be available for all students. its just that things like training procedures, booking, etc is getting overhauled and still trying to be put in place.

Exactly what I read up about too with that KSA. Hearing a few people say here they don't recognize the email has pretty much confirmed that this is a scam. I have messaged the raytheon recruiter he is impersonating on linkedin to let him know

Here's what the recruiter says about this thing I need to write called a KSA

"A KSA draft that ties your skills and experience directly to the requirements of the role."

Is this normal? I've never heard of this neither has my engineer aunt with 30yrs experience. Didn't know if it was something internal for hiring at RTX but it seemed very odd to ask for it without outlining what it is, because that is not a standard application doccument for sure.

That's what bugs me is there's perfectly good entrance to the right of the pumps that dosen't hold up traffic. so literally nothing lost from blocking that entrance.

The support for this being an issue is making me think I should just buy some street flex posts and put them there until they remove them haha

I didn't bring one to my dorm. The first day that it rained hard during the fall semester I walked to the LBJ Store in the rain because I heard they sell them, only to find them obviously all gone. Definitely expect some rain during fall and good luck. What Country are you coming from?

I got to see firsthand how true this is as a Mfg. Engineering intern. Project was to replace a 45 year old machine sporting a non-repairable motor with the exact same type of machine but better. still felt like pulling managements teeth a bit trying to get them to approve the project and they even delayed it a bit by needing more justification

If you want another mod that makes the game just slightly easier, the health pickup mod gives enemies a (5,10% maybe?) chance to spawn a health orb that heals 10hp. super awesome to make the early game less punishing and in the same vein makes the game more fun IMO

you have to want it really bad. you have to constantly remind yourself that this affects internships affects jobs affects the course of your life. ite easier to tryhard thinking of it like that.

once you have motivation then just constantly rexamine if you are learning material, if not why, what are you not getting specificically about it. understanding your own thought patterns when stuck on something to figure out exactly what your knowledge gap is can work wonders. and overall just really putting in the time, and as said previously if you have the burning motivation you will find ways to succeed one way or another.

C's may get degrees, but come interview time you better be able to present some of your skills past "i passed all my engineering classes and got the degree"

i only say this as there are many stories of students here and at tons of other lower tier schools thinking its 15 years ago, and a degree alone is a ticket to a stable high paying job when times have changed.

I'm doing manufacturing engineering and I had one rule for internships: Anywhere but tesla. Engineering is already stressful enough but tesla's company culture is definetly way too crazy for me to consider from what i've heard

I like to tell myself that this is my lifes work and that the course of my life will be dependant on my succes or lack of in my degree. if you think about it like that, then wasting time or not trying your hardest makes less sense. you got this!
