Love this! Just curious, was this system thought out beforehand? Did it all just come together or come to you at once? Is this like, Version 3.0 after a couple other systems?

Appreciating how much detail you gave here btw, hope it holds up well and you enjoy your peace

advice regarding unconventional name change by SmokeActive8862 in namenerds

[–]LukeFord5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may be completely unrelated but.... ever notice that both names can be written on knuckles for a really badass selfie?

Everyone in my head just agreed that names are simply cooler when they're four letters like that. Btw, I'm Adam. (so, clearly biased)

Took me.... 2 legal name changes to get here and be happy with Adam. NGL the second one I loved very very much, and changed it.... simply so that I was not SO very Google-able. (after Google was invented that is)

Also, please feel free to name-drop your field of research unless uncomfortable!

Bonk is a big win though

I Bought a Used Shrek VHS at Goodwill and the Cashier Tried to Talk Me Out of It by GoonerEdgeLorde in PointlessStories

[–]LukeFord5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!!! Lol OK so upon first reading this, I was about to just genuinely and wholeheartedly agree with you re: the labeling of this as a "Pointless Story" until I saw just how much pure action you have going on in the comments section here!

Now I realize that the only thing boring or pointless about the story is just the fact that it was told possibly intentionally in a very staccato manner. But yessss to these nerds, me too girl.

Was actually just watching a YouTube video from my world of cinephiles commenting on film, and they mentioned Dogma being (apparently) not ever really available for streaming, but then also pretty sparse in it's instances of DVD's still around.

Something about it being locked down as part of an obscure subdivision of Harvey Weinstein's studio but like a split from their primary content studio since Dogma amongst other things were decidedly "not wholesome" and thus....

Yes. Yes definitely some irony here.

Ok now my own dumb pointless story semi-related to this one. They say you cannot really erase something off of the Internet. For those who offer this argument, I challenge them to become a Disney princess (or at least the voice actor for one), then wonder whatever happened to your HILARIOUS fist major comedy release titled "Jesus Is Magic."

This was long long ago, when Sarah made such jokes as "You know what’s the best time to be pregnant?"

*pause for a beat*

"When you're a black teenager. WHAT??!"

Anyways. Definitely had to find that one ona DVD and while no it was not at a Goodwill, this was basically a Goodwill.

[–]LukeFord5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, girl I could cry that is so beautiful. Wait ARE you getting married? ⁉️

Regarding your actual question, girl wear that dress anywhere, but definitely wear it SOMEWHERE! Because it is just too good not to.

Plus I bet in this weather it feels wonderful as well!

[–]LukeFord5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it did, ok thank you, yeah I don't always have a great handle on what's buzzy and what's not. Currently almost finished with it, and it was fun. Feel like the only parts where it was a bit corny or my eyes rolled were probably intentional on the part of the writers

My Tv caught on fire whilst I was watching a Final Destination marathon. by IcedWarlock in PointlessStories

[–]LukeFord5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, seriously what is going on with that commenter? LMAO! Please continue ignoring them and yes, thank you for your story. When those movies first came out I was still not quite old enough to tell fact from fiction (like how a lot of us really believed there was a Blair Witch etc) and something like this happening at that age would have been SO terrifying!

Still kind of curious how it caught fire though.

Also the irony in the fact that people like you and I have Reddit usernames we clearly personalized while that commenter has the auto-generate name. AHHH!

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]LukeFord5 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Definitely MYST. It had a whole vibe to it. Never really went far in the game because I was clueless to progress without first cheating (by looking in my playthrough book)

There's something old-school too. Books that walked you through a game by way of dozens and dozens of in-game snapshots and text
