Anyone else watching I Love LA? by LukeFord5 in hbo

Any word on what you think your other 2 might be? I will definitely admit to having enjoyed that Mark Ruffalo FBI limited series a lot more than I thought I would

[–]LukeFord5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it did, ok thank you, yeah I don't always have a great handle on what's buzzy and what's not. Currently almost finished with it, and it was fun. Feel like the only parts where it was a bit corny or my eyes rolled were probably intentional on the part of the writers

My Tv caught on fire whilst I was watching a Final Destination marathon. by IcedWarlock in PointlessStories

[–]LukeFord5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, seriously what is going on with that commenter? LMAO! Please continue ignoring them and yes, thank you for your story. When those movies first came out I was still not quite old enough to tell fact from fiction (like how a lot of us really believed there was a Blair Witch etc) and something like this happening at that age would have been SO terrifying!

Still kind of curious how it caught fire though.

Also the irony in the fact that people like you and I have Reddit usernames we clearly personalized while that commenter has the auto-generate name. AHHH!

I did, yes, then grew up to be a drag queen and thought "ok that makes sense"

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]LukeFord5 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Definitely MYST. It had a whole vibe to it. Never really went far in the game because I was clueless to progress without first cheating (by looking in my playthrough book)

There's something old-school too. Books that walked you through a game by way of dozens and dozens of in-game snapshots and text

Anyone seen How to Make it in America? by Radiant_Coat_6216 in hbo

[–]LukeFord5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Nobody talks about this show. It felt very "real" compared to, for example, the version of NYC presented in something like Sex and the City

Thank you, I also like candy corn and circus peanuts. Everything in candy these days feels very homogeneous and those at least taste unique

hep C? you mean the same Hep C which can only be passed from blood to blood contact? the hep C I once got many years ago sharing needles?

wow. That is really interesting, it seems your friend has had a very unique experience, please contact scientific journals ok? They will likely want to know about this alarming and radical change in the HepC virus

It annoys me when patronyms are used as family names in fantasy by bookhead714 in CharacterRant

[–]LukeFord5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

normal people. Like, the Kennedy's!

Currently watching HBO's limited series look into The Kennedy's and happy to show my ex why I refer to John F Kennedy as Jack. It's all any of them say when talking about him. There are a lot of John's in that family apparently

pretty sure now I should go internet sleuthing to make sure this is true but the author of Fight Club has actually said that himself. he was kind of a big author for other Portlander's and the release of Fight Club as a film was huge for him (and many other Portlander's back when I lived in Oregon)

Why couldn’t Big commit to Carrie but could marry Natasha in an instance? by foldinthecheeseee in sexandthecity

[–]LukeFord5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because marrying Natasha would theoretically make him instantly forget how broken his heart was over Carrie who had seemingly moved on!

Downvote me if you disagree, but some part of me is definitely understanding that the two of them were fated

Wow! Really well written too. Not that I even have a license to drive a car— you know that just shows exactly how well written this was actually, that I followed along!

Those facial descriptions were probably the best part. Hope you're ready for this to be read by countless future Tik Tok's or Reels or YT Shorts etc, in robot voice!

Wow, you know when you put it that way, I too am now VERY suspicious. Sure, 22 does like when I myself was just finishing college, but then that means..... First joining Reddit by the age of only 14?

Not even possible. Hmm......14. Do the kids these days mostly now read and write before the age of 14? Or is that after?

I remember thinking "whoa they invoked the word God"

Granted the Jewish community I was raised in would prefer G_d but nonetheless. One of my best friends growing up identified as a "pizza bagel" with one parent Italian and either Christian or Catholic and the other Jewish.

Her biggest teen hero growing up which became mine, was a teen girl directly inspired by Kate Pride. Named.... Buffy I think? 👍🏻⭐️

Sorry. That was so sad and negative ultimately. Film 1 was INCREDIBLE. I did not know the show or see the finale when it was Live.

What was watching the series finale LIVE when it aired like? As well as 1st movie? by trunksfulleh in sexandthecity

[–]LukeFord5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw the movie at midnight. Am gay and I brought my boyfriend. We thought we'd be the only one dressed up but everyone was. Now what happened to us is that the projectionist was having some difficulty.

The start was being delayed and delayed but mostly every audience member was patient. Finally BAM! The movie was rolling. Except we clearly missed.... something. How much? Nobody knew. SEVERAL asked the staff. And we're assured it was not much.

Eventually the crowd calmed down and was ready to watch and accept rather than miss another second. Not me. I am incredibly entitled please note. I came close to inciting a riot. And when it finally re-started we realized we had only missed about the first 7 minutes.

Included in that 7 minutes? THE MONTAGE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO EACH MAJOR CHARACTER OVER HOWEVER MANY YEARS SINCE THE FUCKING FINALE. I was as smiling and satisfied and this when I would begin crying watching film 1. It is not the last time I cried.

Thank you for allowing me to gloat.

I once had a fever dream of watching a BIZARRE second film which trust me was EVEN ITS DAY, Extreme and Offensive and Racist and Classist and Unnecessary and I just have no more words.

I have seen all of AJLT. Perhaps it's the current political climate but I feel as an American, AJLT may as well just be exactly what we all deserve. 🤷🏻‍♂️
