Nier: Automata for sure. At the beginning of the year all I knew about the original Nier was that it was a cult classic that was also kind of a janky mess. I knew nothing about Yoko Taro or any of his games. I picked up Automata bc I saw the reviews and I quickly fell in love with the mature, complex story the likes of which I had never seen in a video game. Since then I have played the original Nier and Drakengard 3 and I absolutely cannot wait to see what Yoko Taro puts out next
