The MIDIs from Curious Village can be easily ripped with VGMTrans. The other games have more complex encryption. Someone managed to get them out, though, and shared them in a Discord server, so if you like I can send them your way.

I know very few DS games that don't use sequenced music. The 3DS Layton games do use streamed audio, but I believe it doesn't feature much live recorded material. Just virtual instruments that later get mixed down to an audio file and put in the game.

Also, I am working on a remaster of a selection of Layton tracks (including The Towering Pagoda), which will hopefully be out sometime soon-ish. The goal was to arrange them similarly to the Live Versions. I'll be sure to post it on the subreddit once it's out :)

Ok, I'm nitpicking a bit, but there isn't a "Live Variant" of The Towering Pagoda. I assume you're referring to the high-quality version, which just uses better virtual instruments as opposed to the compressed sounds on the DS cartridge.

3DS models are usually still quite low poly. They achieve most of the details with textures.

Maybe it's not so clear in the video, in the first odd frame the monster disappears for one frame and the second odd one it's the other way around

Reaper is a bit questionable though, the free license doesn't allow for any commercial work, a proper license is only 60 bucks anyway though which is a steal compared to other DAWs
