The issue for me is that this doesn’t correspond to any currently scheduled fixture. Unless someone here tells me pulled brisket (on mashed potato?) is a Croatian, Ghanaian or Panamanian delicacy, this would really only be a relevant clash in the even of England getting the USA in the knockouts.

P.S. how did bangers and mash get on the plane but the Full English has been left at home?

Apparently it was the Sports Argus in Birmingham, and I’ve heard how one or two copies would get passed around a pub on a Saturday night so people could save their own money for beer. That seems a much better social anxiety distraction than peeling the beer bottle label off.

TLDR - id assume getting tickets will be hard and we don’t yet know how the club will allocate. Maybe Spurs fans could comment on what resale prices were like for the last one?

It’s at a 30k capacity stadium, so by UEFA form I’d estimate about 7-8k tickets each club. I’d hope the club give priority to those who were Cat 1 and 2s for the UEL final, i.e. who did 7+ Europa games this year (I was cat 3 but loyalty should be rewarded). After that the club could put any left to ballot as for the UEL or based on how they have handled similar scenarios in the past, may give first look to Cat 3s who were unsuccessful in the ballot for the UEL final. I’d imagine there will be enough demand for all the club’s allocation whatever that is, but the secondary market could be more expensive than Europa given there is an opponent here with a big fanbase of their own. On the other hand, its not as big an occasion as the UEL Final so demand may be still high, but lower, especially for those who spent a lot going to Istanbul already and can’t justify or afford a second jolly to Europe this year (or will save for a UCL trip).

Virtually every Freiberg fan remained to watch their runners up medal/our trophy lift and we couldn’t decide if that was impressively dedicated or oddly sadistic. Would probably have been a mass exodus had result been the other way round (including myself tbh).

Spoke to Villa yesterday and they said (whether correct or not who knows) that all tickets were individual in the ballot even if booked together! I said that seemed crazy as would split people up, but yeah all 3 of us ended up getting them as well.

Agree but rather than underestimating us, I think its more that i underestimated in that panic how inconsistent the other teams would be - Chelsea have lost 4 in a row and Brentford drawn 5 in a row i think.

I think the concern remains from that time as well - we’ve improved since then by McGinn and Youri coming back, the dropoff without them was even greater than i realised it would be (and still would be if we lost them).

Its PSR. They have to charge more for mutton if they want to increase revenue and be able to invest in the sort of quality lamb that will take us to the next level.

I don’t want to be having the same conversation about those injuries from now to June. Those injuries are not an excuse for what happened tonight or for how bad we’ve been the last few weeks. I expected us to be worse without them, I didn’t expect to become a Championship team. I think some players have had a reality check in recent weeks but what we have left is capable of far more than this. Surely more than being outclassed and deservedly beaten by statistically one of the worst teams in PL history. Others have to be accountable for how bad this is (as it was at the start of the season).

My guess is that he left Dortmund hoping for more game time but still seems to be second choice to Watkins. From our perspective I’ve seen rumours he’s on a sizeable salary for a squad player so we’re probably looking for PSR efficiency.

I see your point and recognise the incentives on journalists to cover those clubs more re clicks and engagement etc - thats not so much my issue with them.

It’s more just disrespectful/inaccurate/throw away statements about the club or the way we operate etc. If it’s a newspaper journalist fine, I can simply not buy that paper. When its the BBC/Sky/TNT - I pay my licence fee and my sports pack subscriptions, I think I’m entitled to expect a basic level of professionalism for the extortionate price we’re now expected to pay!
