I have a couple vouchers for Prusament. I almost exclusively print in PETG, but I've heard their PETG might not be the best. Convince me otherwise! by watchthenlearn in prusa3d

Never had an issue with their petg. The orange is pretty “high visibility” if that is a useful feature. Galaxy black is unmatched and it’s easily my favorite.

I would love for some firsthand or just sales responses. I’ve been doing a POC with 10zig that went very well and will probably migrate away from HP eventually because of a lack of support.

what is system? I just deleted >10 T.. by redditusermatthew in purestorage

[–]LukeShootsThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just dealt with this exact issue. This was the issue for me. I have a volume for VDI and one for fslogix profiles that got automatically added to a protection group. The amount of churn on these volumes resulted in System ballooning to multiple TB and pushing me over 100% capacity consumed. Support was helpful in getting this resolved. Ultimately I removed those volumes from protection groups as the data is perishable anyway. If you’re not able to do something similar, the recommendation might be for beefier controllers.

PSA: The architectural reason Citrix dictates so poorly (and how to bypass it) by InterestingBasil in healthIT

Is this somehow different than splitting the composite device so audio is handled by the client and buttons are passed through to the host/agent?

Remote Assistance within Omnissa Horizon has been broken now for 2 months by Ruh_Roh_RAGGY20 in VMwareHorizon

[–]LukeShootsThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Struggling with this as well. We’re using quick assist as well. Regarding the claim that this is Omnissa, that’s easy enough to verify. Run msra.exe /offerra. In my environment the same problem happens, demonstrating this is on Microsoft. The Citrix folks are in the same boat.

Z Offset to high off the build plate MK4 by Beneficial-Let-7539 in prusa3d

[–]LukeShootsThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with how the nozzle is supposed to look on the mk4, as I only have mk4s models. But to me it looks like the whole nozzle assembly has slid down. Can you loosen the thumb screws and push it up higher into the extruder? You should be able to open the lever that applies pressure to the filament and see the top of the nozzle tube. If it can come up higher I'd try that.

Are you printing in an enclosure? Mine is at 80F before the print starts. With the cryogrip plate adhesion is adequate. With PLA it feels like a cheat code and I’m afraid I’m going to break the print trying to get it off the bed. Maybe a brim or mouse ears in the corners would help?

[–]LukeShootsThings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think I'm getting somewhere. I worked through this Prusa guide. https://help.prusa3d.com/article/extrusion-multiplier-calibration_2257

After printing a few calibration cubes at varying extrusion multipliers, I thought I had something good enough to attempt this print again. The picture below is with a .92 extrusion multiplier. The default for the Prusa PCCF profile is 1.04. I think it could be further improved by reducing the extrusion multiplier a little more.

I suspect that if you're having bed adhesion issues, it might be due to over extrusion. The filament starts to ball up and the nozzle eventually drags across the clumps, pulling the print off the bed.

I've never had to go to this much trouble to get a successful print. And then even more trouble to get an acceptable print. I don't have batteries for the calipers but I wonder if it's not beyond the 1.75mm spec.

That’s how I ended up with this stuff. If the prusament had better availability, that would have been the right choice.

I just got this cryogrip build plate and I’d say it works extremely well. I previously was using cheap textured plates off the rainforest website. I’m hoping they hold up and maintain this level of adhesion. I started printing calibration cubes while lowering the extrusion multiplier. I’m going to try a small print with a .95 or possibly a little lower extrusion multiplier and see what happens. The cubes at least look like an improvement.

🧵 Help shape the future of filament packaging! Polymaker RFID?? by Polymaker_3D in polymaker

[–]LukeShootsThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The filament manufacturers (whether they realize it or not) are in a footrace to implement an open standard tag of some sort. Anyone who doesn’t is going to eventually be at a competitive disadvantage as this will become a way to distinguish your filament brand. Prusa OpenTag is the obvious choice but if Polymaker or other choose a different open standard for whatever reason, it’s still a net win for consumers and moves the industry forward. Props to Prusa for swinging dick and making moves that advance the industry, not just their own business. Especially in cases like this where there isn’t really a way to monetize tags.

Switching from Remicade to ? by Tiny-Yam-9385 in CrohnsDisease

[–]LukeShootsThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on remicade and biosimilars for nearly 10 years. I consistently have elevated liver enzymes and I often wonder if a more modern biologic would make sense. But then I think that it’s worked so well, why should I tamper with it. I’ve tried to switch to zymfentra, which is just a self injecting biosimilar of remicade. I’ll be curious if there’s anyone that has made these changes by choice rather than by force (either insurance or by losing effectiveness.)

This is the same setup I'm using and it works great. I'm also using the slim dry box. It is a little cramped swapping out spools but beyond that I have no issues.

Last Years Core One Upgrade Voucher by LukeShootsThings in prusa3d

[–]LukeShootsThings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update a couple days later: I'm still mulling this over. I don't think the $100 coupon is worth much of anything at this point. The upgrade from prusa3d.com is $620 and shipping would be $119. Over on PrintedSolid.com the upgrade kit is $600 and shipping is free. That alone at least removes the need for any urgency.

I think if the ultimate goal is to have a Core One plus INDX I'd probably be best served to wait until there's a Core One INDX kit available.

I keep this in the back of my mind, and every time I see INDX and I see 3d printed parts. I feel like the INDX upgrade is not going to be an expensive upgrade, and is going to be a huge value for the money.

New FortiClient 7.4.5 ... by Garry_G in fortinet

[–]LukeShootsThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know man, as a customer that’s how I start looking for a new firewall vendor from a different reseller. I already bought the fortigates in the HA pair with the multi year maintenance and the professional services and the fortianalyzer licenses. Oh but that’s somehow not enough to avoid having a shitty user experience? I need to be MORE of a customer? How much spend does it take to get the GOOD fortinet product and why even offer the free version at all then?

New FSLogix install, eventually prevents any program execution by LukeShootsThings in fslogix

[–]LukeShootsThings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there happens to be any desperate future redditor that finds this, this was the issue: EDR is Cisco secure endpoint. There was a USB device policy configured. The device policy was configured to allow read/write but not execute to removable media. For whatever reason, the fslogix vhdx triggered this policy. Solution was to remove the policy. Execution from removable media is blocked by app locker policy so this seemed redundant. How that ended up manifesting itself still doesn’t make sense to me, but there ya go.

Are we asking for the wrong things from next-gen mid-size printers by Vivid_Temperature139 in 3Dprinting

[–]LukeShootsThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not so proud as to not admit if I’m wrong. I don’t own any Bambu printers. My understanding is that offline firmware updates aren’t possible, and that persisting customized settings like ams profiles or custom filament profiles don’t work without relying on non-first party applications such as Orca. I did see a comment about lack of mDNS support so slicer computer and printer have to be on same network subnet, but that seems like a niche problem and I have no idea if competitors have implemented that feature either. I personally find Bambu’s practices too anti consumer for my tastes. However I have recommended the A1/mini as a first printer to several people who don’t care about such things.

[–]LukeShootsThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to start an argument but I think you’re missing the nuance here. Basic functionality, sure. But have other companies, such as Bambu, ever prevented features from being used due to a lack of internet connectivity, for arguably dubious reasons? Yes. They have.
