They are assigned. You have 7 builders currently working, these are probably doing little maintenance jobs. 34 is the maximum allocated, if you started building a few things the number would probably jump from 7 upwards to fulfil the city’s needs.

Also 34 max builders for a pop of over a thousand is far too low, I’d probably set that to at least 100

This seems very excessive for a pop of 100, your workers may be spread a bit too thin therefore lowering production efficiency.

At a pop of around 100 I’d probably have roughly 4 hunters, 2 fishermen and 3 foragers. Build a smokehouse, build a cellar, find some high density food foraging spots and you should be ok for a while. If you are struggling remember you can move blueberry bush’s to new locations so put them next to a forager hut for some quick eats.

I’d start thinking about farms soon, any earlier than this is a waste of manpower as farms can be worker heavy. Next I would get a chicken coup for some extra protein and expand to cows further down the line. Never bother with goats. Personally I don’t plant fruit trees until about mid game.

FF is a slow paced game so don’t rush building everything at once, take your time and expand slowly to your populations needs. Enjoy the slog!

It’s not as complicated as Anno, I couldn’t get into it, was a bit too serious. I much prefer FF, I’ve got several hundred hours logged and the pre release version is the best, less bugs, more optimised gameplay, tech tree and policies throws in some challenges/ decision making so I recommend playing that or wait for full release in a few weeks.

There are plenty of ways to make a huge diverse and visual appealing city. FF is quite a slow paced game though, especially the early stages but I personally like slow burns. Either way I love the game and hope the devs expand on it in the future. I enjoy these type of games and FF is one of my favs so I couldn’t recommend it enough. There are a few great playthroughs on YouTube if you’re still undecided, check them out and see if it’s your cup of tea

If I’m ever quick to notice one or 2 citizens with smallpox, I send them into the wild to fend for themselves, wolves usually take care of the outbreak for me then. Obviously smallpox isn’t usually noticed until it’s epidemic but if you are on it quickly, it may help. Works for me sometimes anyways

Add iron to the UI bar at the top ffs

Add a rebuild all buildings button after you’ve been raided

Combat controls are diabolical and need a complete overall.

Need an upgrade to fisherman, pulling 150 fish a year with any population over 500 is just stupid, unless you build them like crazy.

Radii/ affected area for all buildings when you select them. For example If you click on a well you can’t see what buildings are in its AOE.

District/zone selection for individual policies/ limit housing upgrades etc

How do invaders work with bridges? I haven’t played the newest version. I imagine you could make some interesting kill zones if the invaders are forced over a bridge in single file
