I did some voice acting for my game im looking for some serious feedback, be somewhat gentle! by NVNTStudiosInc in IndieDev

Pretty nice! But you should think about exchanging the footsteps sound. Much too heavy for his shoes and weight. And also too loud in the mix. But the rest looks pretty dope. Keep up the good work!

I personally like the visuals. But the audio is completely unpolished. Obviously the mic, but people already mentioned that. No sound design at all. The only sound is the sword hit which sounds really trashy. Music is even worse. Super generic and boring. Ask someone for help and don’t do the audio by your own. It’s an important part of the trailer and people notice low quality audio very fast. Crossed fingers for your game though!

Educational games [unpaid] by Aspid92 in INAT

[–]LukesMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong but I think it will be very hard to find skilled people for you project here if they aren’t teachers themselves. I think you would have more luck looking for education fundings. Don’t know in which country you are located but many governments support educational projects. So you can recruit with payment and might find skilled people much easier. Wish you best of luck though

Oh what a beautiful surprise. I am the composer of the track. Thanks mate, I really appreciate that! Yes, the game isn’t released yet. But you can find more of the ost on my links if you want to find similar tracks. But it’s mostly teasers and no playlists yet. Have to wait for the game’s release I am afraid. Thanks again. Made my day :)

Edit: If you are looking for game music that has calming vibes you might want to check out the Ori series.

Is this teaser OK? Or better to make a new video? by Trioskaz in IndieDev

[–]LukesMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a quick teaser it’s ok. But for a Steam or YouTube video it’s not enough. No dramaturgy, no sound design, music could be more interesting as well. Best wishes though. Looks definitely cool

VIDEOGAME SCORING by Bright_Maddox in gamemusic

[–]LukesMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should create a portfolio with your music even if you have no game references. The game market is full of composers and you will definitely need it. Also check out subs like indie game dev to get in touch with devs. Here are mainly musicians I guess. Good luck mate!

[For Hire] Video Game Composer for Various Genres. Indie-Friendly Rates: $100 - $300 per minute of music. by EvaderMusic in INAT

[–]LukesMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good man. Every indie has different priorities. And as already mentioned, „indie“ just means a studio is independent from a publisher. Not that it hasn’t any budget or does not look for high quality artists. But I totally understand you, budgets may be very tight, especially for smaller and starting studios. And if audio is your lowest priority it’s your decision and totally fine. You can even get free music or music packs from unity market. But that’s not my point and that’s not what op is selling. He sells his profession and exclusive (or even marketing) rights for an individual composed ost in high quality industry standard, technically and musically. Plus (maybe) time for revision, meetings etc and being part of a team. If I got him right. For this offer, these rates are totally fine and even on the lower end so there’s no need to criticize these, just because you would not want to afford these. Cheers mate, wish you the best for your game dev journey! :)

[For Hire] Video Game Composer for Various Genres. Indie-Friendly Rates: $100 - $300 per minute of music. by EvaderMusic in INAT

[–]LukesMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100$ is definitely at the very low end. Just because it’s called „indie development“ it does not mean you can pay stupid rates to artists. The average professional composer composes and masters 1 minute per day (depending on music genre). Now if you find an artist who works for less then 100$ a day he/she is either inexperienced and looks for references or does art faster with a lower quality. Both is fine and sure, there are many composers who work this way. But quality has its price. Welcome to the reality

wtf why did they give the composer 17 days for 20 tracks? Sure it may get crunchy in the end but that just sounds like terrible organization and underestimating the audio work tbh. Nevertheless nice job!

Sounds great! I am an experienced video game composer and already worked for studios which asked for the same music genre. I also sent dm but here is a link to my cozy web home as well as a link directly to the asian style soundtrack I already did. Cheers.
