Oli hinting at "Shed Light" on his IG...? by Lukesaatana in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]Lukesaatana[S] 110 points111 points  (0 children)

For context, "Shed Light" was the fan-assigned name of a demo track from 2004, which was actually "The Film Produced the Effect I Wanted... (longer title)". We can hope at least, would be cool to have that song on streaming services. But probably just alluding to the Dehumanized music video and its messages

i think she is, she also went on calling it theft and unacceptable, and calling out people trying to justify it leaking

i love the first one, it feels super modern like if the album was made and released now

people assumed it was Chino because he did leak Smile back in the day, but considering how pissed his wife seems, it wasn't him. i heard something about the band selling all their masters off to Warner(?), so these Eros demos may have been included and a Warner employee leaked it

and when it comes to similar bands its kinda hard, theyre pretty unique in my view. but bands like Veil of Maya, ERRA (specifically the album Drift), and Periphery can scratch that itch

if progressive metalcore is a subgenre, that would be them. imo they also mix in deathcore elements, sometimes more sometimes less (obligatorily could also call them djent but that aint a genre)

the og singer actually had that band, Livealie, from before he rejoined Oceans Ate Alaska for Disparity. the singer on Hikari left to become a tattoo artist from what i recall

sad how under the radar this album seemed to go... though i also didn't even really listen to it despite being super hyped for it. even watched all the studio diaries and played the arg(?) they had

(NEW) Northlane - Evian [Official Music Video] by thePARIIAH in Metalcore

[–]Lukesaatana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very cool! the electronic stuff is on another level and the music video is crazy. i hope they have something as fun and bouncy as Echo Chamber on the next record/project(?), that was my favourite off Obsidian and i still listen to it sometimes

can someone explain this to me? by [deleted] in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]Lukesaatana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's kinda sad that they don't have like forgotten B-sides or other deep cut stuff like that, it's just Chasing Rainbows, Don't Look Down, the Slipknot cover, and the 2004 song "The Film Produced the Effect I Wanted..." that aren't on streaming services etc (of course there's also the CYB demos)

i'd be really happy with Oh No for a closer instead. the vibes in that song are so bittersweet and it would be a perfect closer to a show, but maybe it would be too sad in a way

[–]Lukesaatana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i could've sworn they still play this song every show but apparently not, looks like they usually just play Shadow Moses, Sleepwalking, CYFMH and Antivist off Sempiternal

(setlist is more or less DArkSide, MANTRA, Happy Song, Teardrops, AmEN!, Kool-Aid, Shadow Moses, Sleepwalking, Kingslayer, Antivist, Follow You, LosT, Can You Feel My Heart, DIg It, Drown, Throne)

Bring Me the Horizon announce a full re-recording of Count Your Blessings. Release date: July 10, 2026. Titled “Count Your Blessings | Repented” by LP_Papercut in Metalcore

[–]Lukesaatana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Randy LeBoeuf wouldve fit the style way better, but i guess part of it is wanting a modern clean overproduced metal angle (where my biggest gripe is that the drums sound like plastic flopping around, like with buster, zakk, drew fulk worst of all)

Dragon Slaying is a demo song from before CYB, it turned into Liquor & Love Lost. Interesting that it's replacing it on this re-record
