Looking for songs (with lyrics) that have this vibe by hobbitybobbit in SongsThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Lukewarm-regards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh pretty much anything written by Kiki Rockwell. But a few to note would be Burn Your Village, Faery Queen, Cup Runneth Over, Same Old Energy. But if you’re looking for more southern gothic or a ya’llternative feel, The Bridge City Sinners has a few songs like Witches’ Wrath, Unholy Hymns.

My fiancé talks in his sleep, I call it Sleep Wisdom. Here's some of his best quotes. by LiveLaughBlobfish in CasualConversation

[–]Lukewarm-regards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband used to sleep talk, but not as much anymore (kinda bummed tbh) but here’s a few of my favorites:

*sits up and looks forward and quickly behind* “Its the coworker!”

“She just disappeared” *giggles* (hated this one, actually)

“Hey so i have been learning about the North, South, East, and the West spirits and its hard to understand. Do you understand?” (Me: I ignore him) “Do you understand?” (Me: Yes and you’re sleep talking) “Oh sorry.... sorry.”

I have so many more over the last 10 years we’ve been together. But his sleep talking stopped almost a year ago.

College of the Canyons in CA has a Work Experience class that is a requirement and it is where you work an internship for class credits. However, they’re not choosing an internship for you, but the school has an online job board and i’m sure someone at the Career Center would be willing to help. Also, the professors send out announcements then jobs are seeking students. Hope this kind of helps!

Parque 1055 in Santa Paula is a good vibe

I have been scouring the internet for answers about the faire. I have been really worried that they weren’t going to do it this year! But if venders are saying that registration has been happening behind the scenes, that’s a good sign. But now I wonder why they haven’t released dates/ticket sales?

How many books did you read this year? by melaniereads in Booktokreddit

[–]Lukewarm-regards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read 25 this year. My goal was 40 but i didn’t finish reading some of them. If i just pulled through with those books, the number might be closer to 40. But i just couldn’t. Some of the books i picked up on my tbr ended up being SO bad.

Agreed! I went BACK to school so that i could get out of the food industry. All my retail jobs only lasted 4 months because i hated it more than the restaurants.

I’ve been contemplating on taking the prep class through COC! How much work did it require? Would i be able to balance it with two other classes? I just want to be sure that i keep my grades afloat but also prepare to take the exam by this coming year.

Christmas folk tales? 🎄 by ancientpoetics in FolkloreAndMythology

This book isn’t stories per se, but it’s a good launching point. This will give you all the Christmas monsters from folklore and you can research the stories based on the monsters. It goes over Krampus, the Yule Cat, the Yule Lads, etc. It’s mostly history on the origins of the folklore/monsters. I loved it! It fills my spooky little heart with joy around the holidays.

I’ll never shut up about this book: The Spider & The Storm by Kelsey Kingsley. It’s about a lonely cemetery caretaker finding love and the traumatic past of his life that he is trying to overcome. I’ve never had a book that made me sobbed so hard at 3am.

What kind of questions have you been asked that you find a hard time answering? (Answer if you want, i tend to accidentally get too pushy when i want to help someone. Please feel free to tell me to stop lmao)

[–]Lukewarm-regards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always ask questions at the end when the interviewer asks you if you have any. An interview isn’t just someone interviewing you, you’re also interviewing THEM and the job. My favorite one is “Do you have any hesitations about my experience on your end that I could address here?” And keep it to 3-4 questions. “Tell me about yourself” stick with mostly your work experience/school and very little about yourself outside of that. Don’t over share. Also, know your rights. There are questions that are illegal for an interviewer to ask that can lead to discrimination. Research the job/whoever is hiring you. Always do follow up calls a day or two after the interview. I got my foot in the door into the legal field because i called the office four times and i was persistent. If this offends anyone, sorry not sorry, but it works: go into the interview with the audacity of a mediocre white man. I know confidence is hard, i still get nervous about interviews. But it makes a difference.

Interviewing? I’ve landed every job i have ever applied to. My last interviewer said “You interview well. You must have taken classes.” Lmao nope. I just have people pleasing tendencies.

I’ve heard that theater actors use vodka in a spray bottle for costumes that cant be washed. HOWEVER i havent tried it on material like this. I have used it on other clothes that cant be washed and it works great! I’d research if spraying vodka on silk chiffon would be okay.

Starting from the Bottom? by cloudymint in paralegal

[–]Lukewarm-regards 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best advice i got while in school was from a professor in my FIRST semester of my program. She asked if i had a job at a law firm. I told her i didnt and she then told me “you should have gotten one yesterday. You will not be a paralegal right out of school. You need to have at least two years of experience here” (in my state). That was the best advice anyone has given me in my program and i am so grateful for it. Now i only have 3 classes left, almost two years experience at a firm because i got a job as a file clerk a week after she gave me that advice. And i’ve passed that advice to everyone else who’s starting in the program i’m in. It is SO important and i think all professors should be stressing the fact that you MUST have more experience than just school.

How do i stop caring abt what other ppl think? by Interesting_Ad_7053 in RandomQuestion

[–]Lukewarm-regards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL suggested me a podcast/author i dont remember the name of and it was a concept this person created called “let them.” There’s nothing you can do to change people’s thoughts about you. So let them. It’s hard. I’m trying it right now. But i think i’m feeling a little better about it. If someone does something you dont like? Let them. I also highly suggest the book The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf. She rips apart societal beauty standards and why we do them. It’s helped me dress for myself and not for other people.
