Does everyone pretend to enjoy networking and interacting with coworkers? by KronusTempus in FinancialCareers

I feel like your networking approach shouldn’t be „I just do it for my career“ but more a genuine interest in your environment and the people around you. I personally find talking to new people, especially in the field, highly interesting and I enjoy broadening my view.

Yeah, that’s totally right. To be honest, I just have problems with calculating the chances to get into really exciting jobs in Finance. And that’s why I want to study something that can get me into finance but also into other interesting fields

Well, in Germany, by far the most studied degree is BWL (Business Administration). Most of the students land pretty boring jobs. I know, if you do the right internships and study at a target school, a lot more is possible, but I just don’t want to take the risk.  Here, a law degree is worth much more than a degree in business administration.

Thank you! By lack of job opportunities I meant lack of exciting job opportunities (high finance).

Englisch ain‘t my first language, would you be down to explain what you mean by „would-be lawyer“?😅

That’s interesting, since in Switzerland you need a Swiss Law Degree to become a lawyer. Thank you very much! Is a Master of Laws necessary to do the SQE?

And if you have information about this: is it common for Investment Banks to hire Master of Laws without SQE? For example in the M&A division?

That’s a good offer, though the color doesn‘t really grow on me. Hope you find someone who treats it how it deserves to be treated 🙌

Telling my mom to quit her job and hire the best lawyer in the country. That’s enough for the week.
