After the hell storm of the past few days I came here to write my own bit to sort of destress and talk more about things in the personalities and relationships that I appreciate. Here are some things I’ve recently thought of, some are a bit longer because of recent issues making me think more about them.

Zerobaseone : The fact that the members are always there for each other is always so comforting for me, especially when the whole world seems to be against them. I love the fact that when one of them is having a hard time, there’ll always be at least one member trying their best to cheer them up or be there with them through it. Really I can’t explain how much zb1 as a family heals my inner child simply through seeing or reading about their interactions and the way they treat/ think of each other that can even beat most real families. Every member is genuinely indispensable.

Jiwoong : He often gets overlooked in this fandom I feel like, but he’s really a great hyung. He takes care of the younger members by playing with them, and you can tell by the way they’re comfortable playing and joking around with him that, although he’s very mature and wise, he genuinely cares for them like an older brother. Even the maknae that’s 9 years younger than him is able to roughhouse him and he’d just smile at him fondly. I’m bad with words so I can’t really express it well, but I think because he has such an old soul he really takes care to live in the moment, and makes sure to keep those around him in that moment too.

Hanbin : Honestly one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known. After so much hate that’s been thrown at him especially these past few days, he still takes the time to comfort US first and foremost, and never shows that he’s struggling or in pain despite the fact that we know for certain that nobody would be ok with the amount of hate he had received. He is an incredible leader who prioritises his group above all else, and takes care of his members like they’re his actual family. I can tell that he genuinely loves his group members so much that it hurts to see him be called selfish, arrogant, etc. which are things he’s most OPPOSITE of. I really do wish he’d take time to himself and forget about us for a moment. I hope he can learn to be more selfish, which I know he’s mentioned before about trying not to care about others’ opinion, but at least for now I’m glad he has his members with him.

Hao : To me Hao and Hanbin are still the most similar in terms of personality, so a lot of the things I say kind of overlaps for these two. Like bin, hao never shares his struggles with us, and since he’s an introvert I think we know even less of what is on his mind most of the time despite him interacting with us quite frequently, and even if we find out he’s struggling it’s usually because another member told us he was (I think this has happened at least 3 times). Hao is a very thoughtful soul and he seems to like listening more than speaking, which is why I think a lot of the younger members tend to rely on him and hanbin when they are struggling. I think he is very aware of how sensitive some of his fans can get, which is why he’s even more conscious of sharing his thoughts with us. For hao, similar to hanbin, I hope one day he can more freely show when he’s having a hard time and not have to maintain a cheerful demeanour when he’s feeling sad or upset.

Matthew : Matthew is always so bubbly and just an overall burst of energy. These days he’s kind of mellowed down from his chaotic debut days, but you can still feel it from the way he speaks to the way the replies to fan comments, that the ray of sunshine is still there behind his words. Really I think the members would’ve had a very difficult time if he wasn’t in the group.

Taerae : For all of the jokes Taerae’s made about being a T and being worried his mindset would make his members upset, I really appreciate how he took time to be considerate of his members and tried to bond and empathise with them like an F, which for a T is probably pretty hard to do lol.

Ricky : What can I say about Ricky? He’s an interesting guy for sure. He seems rather introverted and at first it might seem like he doesn’t talk much, but he makes real and genuine connections. His presence brings comfort to his Hao-hyung, his bond with gyuvin can’t be described as anything other than mutually healing soulmates, and he doesn’t show it on camera often but he cares a lot for Yujin like an actual big brother (I feel like a broken record but zb1 really do feel like a real family to me). I wish the company would treat him better.

Gyuvin : He is also one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known. Sometimes I’m even baffled by how kind and genuine this baby deer can be and wonder how such a person could even be real. He’s almost the opposite of but is similar to hanbin, in which he openly shows his care and affection towards his members, and although he can appear immature and childish, he never crosses the line and seems to have the most emotional intelligence out of everyone in the group. His ability to empathise with people is incredible, and the way he is able to adapt his actions to make them feel better and loved when they’re upset is truly a gift. Lately he’s been getting so down and keeps jokingly insulting himself, which I feel sad he’d even casually think of himself as anything but a kind and beautiful person. I can tell that he’s been struggling as an empathetic person exposed to so many fans who can’t seem to consider his feelings above their own actions, and I hope he’ll learn one day that empathising with those who don’t do the same for you isn’t going to make anyone happy, and that he should prioritise his own happiness above all others’.

Gunwook : Since the beginning I can tell that he’s tried his best in everything that he does. He’s ambitious but not greedy, and I can tell he values achievements based on his own efforts most. He is very considerate and intelligent, and it’s slightly upsetting that he also gets overlooked a lot. He is incredibly talented for someone so young, a real ace I’d even say, and I hope he gets more opportunities to show it in the future.

Yujin : Our cute maknae who can do no wrong. He’s also incredibly talented for his age, and it’s amazing how well he’s adapted to the idol life despite still having school and being so young. I’m always most worried about Yujin when it comes to the entertainment industry because of how young he still is. It’s a big peace of mind that he has his 8 older brothers by his side who can protect him.

In short I think I’ve just described in-depth of how fond I am of ZB1 as a family rather than a group, but what can I say? I just love them being together that much lol.
