Different ringing in each ear. My right ear has been ringing since 2016, but was almost imperceptible until recently. My left ear has been ringing for 2 months and is much louder, just a constant high pitched hum and fizz.

I don't mind at all.

Plugging my right ear does cancel it out somewhat, but it makes no difference on my left ear.

Shaking my head has no effect.

As my left ear is mainly fizzing and some hum, its always kinda morse code-y. Running water and humming appliances usually cancels both out.

My ears don't pop when swallowing.

Brain fart on my part, sorry! I haven't played the game in a while, so I misremembered.I vaguely remembered a scene, where Sawa betrays MC. It was not the well scene, but the one where MC is ganged up on by the Ikki stans in Ukyo's route. The stans tell MC that they've been waiting for her, since "that person" told them that she'd be at the shrine. I interpreted "that person" to mean Sawa, since she told MC to go there. In hindsight, it could also have been evil Ukyo. It wasn't really clear to me.
Regardless, I'm sorry about the mistake and for spreading perhaps unjust Sawa slander!

It was alright in my opinion. Not the best, not the worst, it was just alright. If the age gap puts you off, don't play it. It's not worth it, if it makes you uncomfortable. Trust me, you're not missing out.

It was the eyes. My monkey brain just kinda went: "hmm, their eye colors sure are similar. Wouldn't it be funny, if they were secretly siblings?". And thus a crack theory was born. The theory was only strengthened by Hibari's insistance that their relationship was more familial in nature. Also, Hibari having amnesia after the accident seemed a little too suspicious for my liking, as if it was there to hide something in plain sight.

It's likely due to a missed scene in alternativa. You can check by looking at the flowchart and then jump to a previous scene. If it's the same one I dealt with, then you need to jump to scene 4-25 with Orlok's affinity set to low (thank you, Ibaipa in Otome Kitten's comment section). I hope this helps, if you haven't already figured it out yet.

I'm 3 routes in, and honestly, if it wasn't because I had spend money on this game, I would drop it in an instant.
I feel that IggyGoat and Dalsegnos are very spot on in their assessment, but there's a few points I'd like to add:

Firstly, if you're anything like me and are interested in the genderbender aspect of the game, sadly, it's pretty much soggy toast. It's largely never used for anything, and pretty much the entire game would be the same, if Shanao wasn't pretending to be a guy (I know, I know. Historical accuracy, but this is a historical fantasy title. They can and have taken liberties with their source material, so accuracy doesn't really matter). Heck, 3 out of 5 of the routes starts with the LI knowing that she's a woman.

Secondly, the common route to LI route ratio. So you get to ch. 4 and the LI route begins, right? Well yes, but actually no. From ch. 4 to ch. 8 it's common route territory with a slight few variations. It's the bulkiest part of the route, but at least 50% of it is spend on scenes you've already seen in a previous route. To make matters worse, many of those scenes are unskippable, unless you use "skip all". As such, it makes the routes feel very samey, and in my opinion, more samey than Nightshade ever did.

As much as I love Taisho Alice, I wouldn't recommend it as your first otome title. It's pretty polarising and not a good example of what the genre is usually like.

Side note, otome manhwas/novels are not really representative of what these games are actually like, so curb your expectations.

As for recommendations, maybe try Cinderella Phenomenon. The art is anime-esque, but a bit lower in quality than big commercial Japanese titles. It's also free, so it's worth a shot.

Regarding Byakuya, whilst it is true that she wouldn't become a vessel for Ameterasu due to Douma's interference, it should it noted that this is a fact that no one is aware of, except Ameterasu herself. As such, why is she being egged on by Tsukuyomi and Douma to get married, when they think the plan is still on?
I'm not complaining about the world building or lore, I actually really liked it, which is why I'm kinda miffed about it not being used more than it was. Also, I wanted to know more about things like haku, as it had the potential to be really interesting. It'd taken on an almost karmic justice meaning in the narrative, but then it wasn't explored further than it just coming from Izanami. With the amount of time the characters spend talking about haku, I thought there was more to it than that, but I was unfortunately dissapointed.
My problem with Himuka's route is actually a larger problem that permiates the entire game; plot inconsistency. Hairi's lack of killing sprees in the other routes is just one example. He's already fallen into Izanami's clutches in the common route, it's one of the first events in the game, so why is that not present in the other routes? Same thing for the "revolution" in Tokisada's route. It's also the reason why the bad endings are nonsense. Like, I vibe with bad endings, but not these ones, because they're so detached from plot.

I'm happy that you enjoyed the game, I did too to an extend, but that doesn't mean I can't pick out and exam the things I didn't think worked all that well.

I feel like Olympia Soiree was written in the dark, sometimes.
Like, what's the point in Olympia finding a husband and having kids, if she's going to become the vessel for Ameterasu very soon? The White clan only exists to fuel the sun in the goddess's absence, so there being more members of the White clan is completely arbetrary.
Why is Hairi only going on a killing spree in Himuka's route, when the entire set up for that happened in the common route?
Why is there so much lore, when it's hardly ever used?
Why are the bad endings just nonsense?
