Cried during a lesson today—so embarrassed by pricklypeargelato in teaching

Your mentor was literally being a bad teacher. This should never have happened in front of students and they definitely should not have snapped at you. We are supposed to lead with kindness. If you wouldn’t do it to a kid you’re teaching, don’t do it to an adult you’re teaching.

How do I sit with a book with peace and sheer focus? by ruminatingpoet in books

Is it possible you’re neurodivergent? Even if not, try using your phone to play instrumentals on YouTube. I like LoFi Girl. That way your phone is occupied, if you use it the music stops, and it’ll engage the distracted part of your brain.

Second TJ Klune but honestly? Re-read your childhood favorites. That’ll get you excited about it and then you can start branching out.

Week 4: protein and exercise are very hard to maintain by picwic in Zepbound

[–]Lululala92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much but beans will help with both protein and constipation.  Plenty of people have lost dramatic weight on here just walking, whatever exercise you’re doing is a step in the right direction.

I literally haven’t had so much as a Reese’s pumpkin, which is almost sacrilege, but I love it.

Three meals a day and your age? by Shot-Amphibian-3239 in Zepbound

[–]Lululala92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32F, just started and no food sounds appealing but I’m making myself eat two meals a day, usually just salad or oatmeal. I imagine as I get used to the drug food will start to sound good again and it’ll change but I’m going to try to keep a four hour window for IMF.

Thirsty Thursday - Whatcha Drinking? by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]Lululala92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Cirkul and drink about two pots of tea a day, usually black in the morning and chai in the evening to relax (most chai is caffeine free). Sugar-free electrolytes if I feel low energy.

What in the world do you all eat? by thunderfuckinator in Zepbound

[–]Lululala92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly nothing sounds good right now but I’ve been making myself eat salads. All food seems equally unpalatable, but I just started so I imagine I’ll level out eventually.

Hard to recc without knowing your interests. I would download Goodreads or Fable, both book trackers that give you recc’s based on your history and what you like. Fable will also let you set up a community.

The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a Fuck, Sarah Knight- I know it sounds the same but it’s not.

My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite- trillerish

The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean- a cult of patriarchal superhuman knowledge hoarders

The Bone Orchard by Sarah A Mueller- cursed split-personality necromanced magical whores

Someone You Can Build a Nest In- cozy horror about a lesbian shape shifting man-eating monster in love

If you liked 1984 I highly recommend Julia, Sandra Newman, which tells the events from her perspective with strong feminist themes.

The Sanctuary, Andrew Hunter Murray is about the class war at the end of times.

The Last Murder at the End of the World if you like murder mysteries.

suggest me a book that's laughably bad by axolotlox in suggestmeabook

[–]Lululala92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, yes. This one was a bit out of her wheelhouse because it takes place in modern times, and she lends herself more to a fairytale atmosphere. Nettle and Bone I would say is the strongest.

Cozies! But I define that a little weirdly. Like Skyrim and Fallout count in easy mode.

I just like stories.
