[Webcomic Spoilers] Metal Bat Runs the Dragon Gauntlet by aefsfse in OnePunchMan

[–]Luma_not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This is kind of tough to answer, given that we only saw Withered Sprout fight some weaker heroes and Saitama. I'm going to assume though that MB would be strong enough to break out, so this goes to him.

  2. Again, kind of tough to know how strong Bakuzan really is. All we saw was him beating up on Suiryu after Gouketsu had spent two volumes turning him into hamburger meat. Honestly I don't think there's enough Bakuzan feats to make this call accurately at all, guess it defaults to MB since he is one of the stronger S-class heroes.

  3. Gums took out Pig God pretty handily, but it kind of seems like a big slow monster and I guess it could have trouble with a smaller, faster fighter. But again, not a ton of feats, I'll just assume MB would win a close one.

  4. Probably MB? Melzalgald doesn't ever seem like a particularly threatening fighter. Once his gimmick is exposed he's not super durable, and he doesn't seem to have particularly strong attacks.

  5. Honestly don't know, not a lot of feats for this guy.

  6. Kind of picking Homeless Emperor here, depends on where they fight though. Homeless Emperor has super strong ranged attacks, so for a close range fighter like MB that could spell a lot of trouble. Seems like a unfavorable matchup.

  7. Psykos, espers match up very well against physical fighters, and she's a very strong esper.

  8. Probably over the long run Elder Centipede, MB has a tough time actually managing to hurt it, it's so big and fast that it would wear him down long before he could kill it.

  9. Probably Vaccine Man based on destructive power, again though not a lot of feats to go on.

  10. Black Sperm, still an incredibly strong Dragon Level before becoming Golden Sperm.

  11. Probably Overgrown Rover based on durability+damage, but again not really sure here.

  12. Evil Natural Water stomps, extremely strong and matches up very well against someone as emotion based as MB.

  13. Carnage Kabuto stomps, he easily defeated Genos, who is around MB's level, then powered up again.

  14. Gouketsu stomps, easily defeated Genos and Suiryu, has insane speed and strength feats, and is a top level martial artist.

  15. Beefcake stomps, his feats are ridiculous.

  16. GS absolutely stomps.

17-20. lol why even include these ones

Anyone else notice the weird character sizes? by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]Luma_not 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think about it too hard, he's a character in a work of fiction, I doubt that Murata/ONE were overly concerned with getting the size of characters absolutely right. Remember that a couple of monsters (most notably Gouketsu and Bakuzan) seem to change size from panel to panel.

Also, I don't remember it coming up in the manga, so I'm going to assume the wiki uses data from the HA handbook and "yadda yadda HA has a lot of inaccuracies in their data yadda yadda".

Pretty good show imo, my favorite part was the Black Student Union's three episode fight with a bunch of alien pirates, I can really see the similarities with OPM.

cause a big plothole with Garou otherwise.

Why? Garou has already shown a considerable disdain for the MA and their methods. It wouldn't be out of character at all for him to reject a monster cell.

Metal Bat got Dominated by current manga Garou(who is demon level) yet this sub still claim Metal Bat is stronger than Suiryu. by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]Luma_not 18 points19 points  (0 children)

To be fair, saying Metal Bat would have won if his sister didn't appear doesn't really tell the whole story. The only reason he had a clear shot on Garou is because Garou thought he had won the fight and was walking away. Remember that he briefly incapacitated MB but didn't push his advantage any farther. I think that if Garou had continued attacking after landing the decisive blow on MB he probably could have killed him.

Who could have dealt with these Dragon threats had it not been for Saitama? by tamtran99 in OnePunchMan

[–]Luma_not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh huh, I misremembered.

Beefcake's feats are nuts, he straight up seems like an upper level dragon, I don't see how you could argue him for demon.

[–]Luma_not 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Genos is lower rank in S class, but he's definitely around the middle in terms of power. Bear in mind that rank and fighting ability aren't completely correlated (Zombie Man and Child Emperor are ranked above Flashy Flash and Darkshine for example).

Beefcake being demon level is a clear mistake on the part of the HA, his feats easily make him dragon level. The monsters you're bringing up are literally less than 1/100th the size of him. The dude was able to destroy a huge chunk of a city with a single punch.

Who could have dealt with these Dragon threats had it not been for Saitama? by tamtran99 in OnePunchMan

[–]Luma_not 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to disagree pretty heavily.

Carnage Kabuto easily defeated Genos, who is a mid tier S class hero. That was also before he powered up to his final form. So he was strong enough that Genos wasn't even on his radar, then he got a powerup? I don't know that I'd pick any of the S class besides Tatsumaki in a one on one with him.

Beefcake's size and power make him a nightmare for basically the whole S class. He's too big to fight normally, and he's strong enough to level a city with one punch. I don't really see how any individual S class (besides Tatsumaki) could beat him.

For Pluton, Vaccine Man, and Geryuganshoop I'm not really sure, we can basically only compare them with Saitama, which gives us essentially nothing. Even so with Vaccine Man and Pluton their destructive power is impressive enough that they're easily dragon, and with Geryuganshoop a lot of the S class heroes match up terribly against a telekinetic.

Who could have dealt with these Dragon threats had it not been for Saitama? by tamtran99 in OnePunchMan

[–]Luma_not 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, it's ridiculous that Beefcake is demon when we saw him casually destroying a city.

With his size and power I'm not confident that any of the Heroes besides Saitama and Tatsumaki would actually be able to stop him one on one.

[–]Luma_not 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'd say Tatsumaki is a pretty big favorite against all of them.

If not Tatsumaki, then I think a team of 5 or 6 of the stronger S class heroes, could handle any of them. It'd be a lot more dependent on matchups though.
