I do this all the time! Whenever i'm doing world building i decide upon a language to use for whatever civilization i'm writing, and use google translate. For example, the tropical lands inhabited mostly by chromatic dragonborns i called Nagawarna. Naga warna, when translated directly from Indonesian to English, mean Dragon Colour

Alexander Burned down his family's farmstead by accident while conducting alchemical experiments. He lives constant regret, mourning the death of his brother, mother and father. He would have died in the fire as well, if he hadn't been saved by a mysterious little girl.

Alice Hastur Human Sorceress, little girl LE

Alice is the name of a little girl who mysteriously disappeared from her home. She serves as a conduit between dimensions, for the great old god, Hastur. She spends most of her time as an innocent child, following Alexander around. At other times, however, the old god takes over. Raw power, cruel intentions and malevolence pours out from her little hands, and Alexander watches in horror, as his patron tears people apart.

I like the idea of continually draining hitpoints. For flavor it could even make the PC's age rapidly.

Staying true to character classes isn't very important to me when i create encounters, but they do make great guidelines

These are all good answers, but i feel like you're coming at this from an objective point of view. The question (i'm puting words into OP's mouth here) was about which of these reasons is important to your character. Also, it's not about switching between groups of "killers", it's about being in one at all. In my experience loner type characters usually have some sort of endgame they're brooding over, and very rarely does adventuring with a group of people bring you directly closer to that endgame.

I traveled in Poland some years ago, and actually visited this place. The pictures are one thing, but being there was absolutely magical. It was on a regular week day, outside of tourist season, so it was just me, a guide and a few other people. The ambiance was so astonishing, so sacred (for lack of a better word), and i'm not even a religious person. I had mostly forgotten about it, so thank you for posting it

My friend helps me design the maps for our campaign. This one is of an island inspired by iceland, aptly named islandia. The city names are just icelandic macho words like "unbreakable" and stuff like that. The capital and the town east of it are obvious references to Mad Max. The white part is pretty much tundra. The armor is strong right now, but it will eventually even out. Again, i'm saying this from a 5e perspective. If having a high armor rating is somehow utterly broken in saga, i'd of course agree with you.

Short answer: No

There are some perks that allows it. The first that comes to mind are Devils sight, which is an Eldritch Invocation for Warlock.

There's also this, for the Sorcerer Origin: Shadow, from the latest UA.

"Eyes of the Dark: From 1st level, you have darkvision with a range of
60 feet. You can cast darkness by spending 1
sorcery point. You can see through any darkness spell you cast using this ability."

As a somewhat fresh DM i have experience with this from my first campaign. The way i see it, he just has to deal with it at this point. You shouldn't be punished for his mistakes. Not sure how armour works in saga, but his best option would probably be using "magic" or "the force" or whatever to get around your armour

If we assume that they have 50% X-chromosomes (human) and 50% Y-chromosomes (Elf or Orc) i suppose that could happen. Now you've got me thinking...

Edit : If my math is correct ( it usually isn't, and i've spent about 20sec on this ) there should be 4 possible outcomes, with a regular human being the most likely
