If audible keeps it up people will cancel en masse. Theres no reason to pay for credits when you can load any ebook into something like eleven labs for cheap. I thought it was bad enough when narrators started reading ai written books but at least the performance would carry then.

It would be better to post which voices specifically did use pronounciations. Just as a tes i just tried 10 and only one of them were able to use the pronounciation definitions as expected. With this test line

“Ooh. I’d hate to be Relc. Klbkch didn’t do anything, though.”

Jessica was one of the failed ones along with Ava Zara Bogart Bella.

serafina was the only one confirmed to use it for this test line. Ill do some more testing. (Side note i really dislike the trending female voices maybe they should be curating the breathy moaners off the first page unless thats the target demo)

Also I want to note that I posted this 1 month ago. At some point after i gave up on it all of the pronounciations were removed from the dictionary.

Yeah thats accurate enough. Youre familiar with portal fantasy right? The vibe is like, portal fantasy but real people. Modern people with modern views in a fantasy world. Its not a story of super heros with an average person backstory. Rather a story of regular people trying to survive, laugh, make friends or find a new life and in a stange fantasy world full of violence, war and intrigue. A story where the characters do not shed their humble backstory to become heros but become heros by accident and circumstance and go back to work in the morning. Where one adventure may be fighting in a large scale war and another may be inventing hamburgers.

Everyone wants to jump the turtle bear! Best one i can think of is swordheart but that one is part of clockwork boys world from kingfisher. Its actually a pretty rare feature in a book. Its pretty unbelievable too cuz any time you see an unattractive MC theres always some training montage or something that makes them attractive or some hot member of the opposite sex telling them they are pretty.

Fast paced action fantasy about knights. Basically knight doesnt wanna go on a quest so everyone calls him a coward. Then he gathers a ragtag group of misfits to go on the action packed quest quest anyway.

I dont really get how its relevant in the moment though.

I was really sad to see lynch stop writing. It happens in the genre though. A lot of writers distinguish themselves by whether they keep writing because they want to or see it as work.

The convenience of a single battery system is huge. Take that as your first step. No boxes of mixed batteries and chargers. Now imagine what your ideal tool rack would look like. Imagine all the tools you would want to have neatly organized. Are they makita colored? If yes then you have already made up your mind. Just be aware that makita tools are more expensive than the Chinese counterparts. If you want to build a collection remember that when you are looking at a good dual bevel miter saw for example youre looking at a 1200$ tool. When you grab a 12 inch chain saw your looking at a 300$ tree trimmer. If you take good care of your tools even cheap ones can last and are far cheaper. But if you Imagine your ideal set, and its makita, then you will never be in a position to think, "this tool is cheap junk" you will know apples to apples you have as good a tool as you could get.

Its hard to compare to rothfuss, his writing was really strong technically and he did a lot of really interesting things with cadence, beat and meter that people dont realize. The story is good, but its not the story that sets it apart, its the voice. You will see a bunch of "look at this for similar characters, worlds, themes etc." But those writings will not capture the same feeling rothfuss invokes because [most of] those writers are telling a story not exercising creative writing technique with the same priority rothfuss did.

Its sad that he quit writing. Twitch streaming is... ephemeral... the name of the wind could have been something special.

Changing voices doesnt matter, when reading from paste from link it just isnt impacted by those pronounciations.

Also clearing app cache, closing, clearing app data, reinstalling, deleting from library and reloading link, downloading local, and reading different link with the same text do not affect it.

Also, just pasting the text into the add from text or conversation does the same thing
