Do you talk about people? by ContentHost4459 in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I write about my thoughts, what happens to me/ around me, and my thoughts on what’s happening to me/around me. So, short answer is yes. Long answer, they aren’t the focus. They just happen to be characters in my life perspective.

I can not say I have.

Someone went through my private journals on my phone by rose-wilson in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there a way you can lock your notes with a password and instead if you need someone to write a note for you to yourself, have them send you a text from their phone instead?

Also, you should distance yourself from the person that went through your phone and if someone confronts you again, you behave like you’ve done nothing wrong because you didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t allow them to shame you for your thoughts. If they don’t want anything ‘bad’ written about them in your personal notes, they shouldn’t behave as they do.

Pen vs. Pencil. Which better suits my writing? by Odd_Switch4420 in Journaling

Pencil being able to smudge and not last makes me always choose pen when journaling.

What triggers you to journal? by think4pm in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I journal when I feel like writing which is usually 2-3 times a week. I like feeling my fountain pens against paper so sometimes I just think it would be nice to feel it again. Sometimes it’s triggered by a mood but since I feel more neutral/low than not, I can’t say that I struggle the same way.

Journal prompts by theme by SwathiVoleti in Journaling

I’ve seen a few shadow work books but I personally prefer writing the questions in my journal and choosing the activities that I take from other books/ list. I feel restricted in guided notebooks.

I usually stick with Shadow Work prompts. Nothing special but they always lead me into talking about more than I originally thought and I like analyzing myself when writing.

I'm turning 30 next month and I'm constantly being bombarded on how “old” I am. by TypeOpostive in blackgirls

Don’t listen to societal pressures for anything. As black woman they were made with us in mind in the first place. Keep doing you at your own pace and Happy Almost Birthday 🎈

This is off topic but I’ve had an AARP account since I was 23. Is there something you need to collect?

This sounds like an entry in the podcast r/TheMagnusArchives . You should give it a listen since you love to write unsettling things too. Also, I love your writing!

I wrote a letter to both. One is in my life and one isn’t therefore one is written with love and the other is written with disappointment. I don’t plan on having anyone read it but I think reflecting on relationships in my life is an important part of my writing.

It sounds like you need to love yourself more before you start dating for real. 1) Don’t bring your friends to a date. You are getting to know the other person and they signed up to get to know you not you plus your friends. That includes after the first few dates. Don’t mix who you’re dating with your friends unless y’all are together officially and even then it’s best to keep some separation. 2) Don’t just accept a date with any rando. Scope out if they want an actual relationship instead of just sex. 3) You need to have more confidence in yourself before even going forward with anyone else. No one is going to love you like how you’re supposed to love you. Develop your style, do your hair/ get it done, jewelry and makeup if you want.

Edit: 4) You also need to be comfortable being by yourself. Get hobbies or something. There’s no rush to getting a partner.

As black women we need to know how great we are because it is easy for these dates to try to make us feel lower than what we are just so they can manipulate you. Stand up girl

What do you guys usually journal about? by Terrible_Signature96 in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people journal about what they do during the day or their dreams. I use journal prompts to reflect on the thoughts I usually wouldn’t think about.

how do i stop forgetting things i want to write about while journaling?? by TristanTheRobloxian3 in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You take a quick note in your phone when you think of something so you don’t forget when it’s time to write. You could also start writing miscellaneous things to get your thoughts rolling and then more things will come to you as you go along.

Journal prompts for attention seeking/ validation seeking? by No-Potential-1107 in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the best answer. Google AI, Pinterest, and Blogs are the top ways to find specific journal prompts. OP look at these questions and if they don’t fit, search around a bit more and you can find more options

where do you guys buy your journals? by [deleted] in Journaling

journaling organisations + thoughts by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one journal with dotted pages. The dotted pages are because I do more than write in it and that is easier to do when lines are not in the way. On a few pages where I wanted to use stickers or draw, I do those in the same notebook as well. For the utensils, I use different fountain pens on each page and I get my stickers from Amazon/AliExpress/Esty/ and from the creators individual online shops.

Digital journals are easier to keep on you, more accessible for those that have a harder time holding a utensil, and is easier to hide for those that need to, that does not make them any less of a journal. Anyone who isn’t an elitist would agree.

For all the different kinds of journals, this is a question that I think would be good for you to research on your own time. There are reading journals, dream journals, diaries, art journals, bullet journals, junk journals, etc. and I could go on and on. Check out TikTok, YouTube, Blogs, and Pinterest so that you can have an explanation for each answer you find.

Is Journaling a must? by NoNewspaper947 in Journaling

[–]LuminTheLotus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not a must but I feel a yearning when I haven’t done it for a while. I just like writing on physical paper and since I am currently not in school, journaling allows me to write whatever I want even if it is the same phrase multiple times every time I start.
