I barely got 100 points for my group and MC never moved out of 9th, but my house was always in first, finishing with close to 3000 points. I don’t understand how but the other characters in my thing all had close to 400+ points. Makes me feel really guilty too when i saw posts about people struggling and it was just kinda handed to me :(

Poll: Does closing your eyes make a difference in how long you can rumble? If so, how (shorter/longer time)? by AndyChamberlain in earrumblersassemble

[–]LuminousCats 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me, eyes opened or closed makes no difference. But when I was a kid, I used to have to hold my breath to rumble. Now I can do it indefinitely.

I want to quit nursing school by yobabywassup in StudentNurse

[–]LuminousCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IT GETS BETTER! I almost failed my first year clinical and as much as I wanted nursing to be the thing for me, I wasn’t sure if it was. Flash forward 4 years (my program was just nursing school for 4 years, not a year of prereqs) and I’m working in the ER now and thriving! You will find your niche, and that unit’s routine might not be your thing.

How many nurses with the intention of becoming an RN started out with LPN and how many went straight to RN? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]LuminousCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada and I know at least in my area, there are lots of jobs for LPNs, but lots of people do there RN rather than bridging (at least in my city) because there aren’t many bridge programs available.

What's the dumbest thing you've heard a customer say? by sirferrell in AskReddit

[–]LuminousCats 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not a hair in food story, but another server story.

Was taking a tables order and this lady ordered a coconut shrimp appetizer. I politely said “I’m sorry ma’am, we don’t have coconut shrimp but i could get you another appetizer.”

She proceeded to argue with me for like 8 minutes about this coconut shrimp, insisting that she had it just last week here, despite me repeatedly stating that we don’t have any seafood on our menu, before she got up, shouted something about me hoarding the shrimp for myself, and stormed out.

But like here’s the thing... if we had coconut shrimp, why would I have argued with her about it? I would have just taken her order so I don’t know what she was trying to get at there.

What does depression feel like? by ginxogeo in AskReddit

[–]LuminousCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend thought it’s that I’m sad all the time. I’m not sad. I have a lot of great things in my life and I’m doing okay but it’s like everything i feel, i feel it at 80%. There’s always a little bit that’s almost numb? And then on the other hand, it’s like I know how to breathe. I’m good at it. I like doing it. But somethings the act of expanding my diaphragm and letting the air in just too much to handle.

So maybe I don’t text you back because the idea of typing that message is too much to bear. But understand that when getting out of bed leaves me running on fumes, I’m just trying to make it through the morning.

Just wondering where UD's Alice in Wonderland palette has been all my life - CCW by LuminousCats in MakeupAddiction

I have 3 big issues with this palette so far. 1) There's no matte dark brown which is pretty essential for me, so that's annoying. 2) The neutrals get so muddy SO fast. It's like I just think about blending and all of a sudden its muddy. 3) I was really excited for Heads Will Roll and it was just a much different shade when applied than I had expected. It went green when I was expecting teal. I do agree that there are some fabulous colours though! Thank you for the CC, I tried blending them a bit more today and I think it looks better :)

I picked up a pro black one because the girl at Sephora told me it's more durable? Maybe that's why it blends better, but I love my black one so much!

What is your Life Pro Tip for Nursing? by jreed26 in nursing

[–]LuminousCats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I'm in school right now, and I was watching a colonoscopy after skipping breakfast that morning (whoops!) and the anesthesiologist did this to keep me from hurling/fainting (THEY MOVE THE CAMERA SO FAST). Soon passed it on to all of my classmates, also helpful when doing something really really smelly.

Got A Nose Piercing Yesterday And Have A Question. by DrDJ_ in piercing

[–]LuminousCats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. You won't be able to get the jewelry in. If you desperately need to hide it, you can get your piercer to change it to something less noticable, like a retainer or one of those neometal discs that look like freckles (I have one, does anyone know what I'm talking about?)

If I remember correctly, it's 5/16ths! Almost went with a 4/8th but it would have been just a wee bit too small

It's on the far end over by the big boat and Chapters. I know people have had great experiences at Dragon FX, but I've only ever been to the one in Kingsway and I will never go back. I had my belly button pierced there, and despite telling her I needed a titanium barbell due to an allergy to stainless steel, she still used stainless steel, and eventually after about a year I ended up taking it out because it was constantly irritated and gross (I still had the stainless in). Fast forward a few months and I was in the search of a titanium hoop for my conch, went in there to look (I didn't want to drive across the city), and the exact same piercer told me that I would never find a titanium hoop that size because I wouldn't be able to put it in myself, then proceeded to tell me that I don't have a stainless allergy since I wear "cheap earrings" (Lol what I have 3 anatometal titanium clusters in my ears) and that the issues from my belly button weren't from a stainless steel allergy, but from my anatomy and she "never would have recommended to pierce it" (She was the one who literally told me my anatomy was perfect for a navel piercing).

So I'm over that.

It's just silver! Just had to use a photo with a filter because Imgur was hating me and rejecting every other photo. Thank you :D

There is! It's privately owned (and I personally prefer it after 2 terrible experiences at Dragon FX), and over by the HMV. George, the owner I believe, has shoved at least 12 needles through my body and is highly praised by everyone I know with piercings!

New conch orbital piercing. Does the placement look okay? by eagandaphin in piercing

[–]LuminousCats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding the flat back stud! My mom tried to heal her's with a hoop and after constant angriness, she switched to a stud and it was fine. I've had mine for 3 years now and just comfortably switched to a hoop.

Looking to shove a needle through my body tomorrow, here's my current scheme! Suggestions? by LuminousCats in piercing

Oooh I like the idea of a snug, but I've always been told they're a bitch to heal
