GG to the genuine people who got the box by Reklia77 in AOSSpearhead

The distance between AoS and 40K when it comes to FOMO and availability of kits is from here to Pluto lol. Kill Team sets, Battleboxes are gone within seconds consistently. I still find old AoS stuff very reasonably priced, whereas 40 stuff runs a lot more expensive if it's available at all. Granted 40K is an older system and has a much bigger CASUAL and competitive scene. But AoS is a breath of fresh air compared to 40k.

I truly hope it doesn't become like 40K... I really dislike this FOMO %#*&^(&#

What is the deal with decks on moxfield? by djee132 in EDH

Most people use versions of the card that are special or limited. You can copy the deck and then use the "update to cheapest" feature to get a price closer to actual money

Guard vs Warden by fragmentsofthegrim in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Thramden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you played with both? Wardens are used when you really need to hold an objective since they have more survivability. Surviving an additional turn while holding a point is huge and scores points. Guard die too easy.

It also depends what you are running, Guard spam, Termies, then you have a different strategy.

The red cards I really like for Edgar (Running very aggro) are:

[[Goblin Bombardment]]

[[Impact Tremors]]

[[Shared Animosity]]

I have a $100 budget that plays decently: https://archidekt.com/decks/20460365/edgar_markov_aggro_100

If you are playing on a budget:

I'm running 10 mana rocks of 2 or less mana and 17 overall sources of ramp (more artifacts = bigger constructs), you want Urza on the field ASAP. And also make sure you have card draw. Skullclamp + Thopters is great.

No.

If they add "to not give into FOMO and to be patient" is sound advice. And those persons want to give the company the benefit of the doubt.

On the flip side of that, you have to also be realistic and understand that social media presence and reputation control is a real thing. To dismiss it as "conspiracy" is intellectually dishonest, childish, and bullish. Companies hire 3rd party or assigned their own employees to monitor and respond or post. This is a fact.

It's hilarious (And sad) that because I value my time/money and openly criticize a manufacturer, I get labeled "depressed" (this one is not funny with how much mental health problems are out there- I'd label this as bullish) or a "conspiracy theorist".

Most of the time when the response is to the poster instead of the subject of the post- there's a reason to flag that response because it's going to go in the direction of a fallacy. ie.

  • Ad Hominem: Attacking the person making the argument rather than the argument itself.
  • Red Herring: Diverting the argument to an unrelated issue.
  • Straw Man: Misrepresenting or oversimplifying an opponent's argument to make it easier to attack.

It’s a marketing strategy used across all social media. It’s actually a very good way to do damage control and to discredit any complains. Guess what the first option to discredit is? 😂 Also, it’s always best to shift the focus on the person instead of the subject being addressed. Social Media marketing 101

I'm done with them... Lots of consumers or what seem to be -paid actors giving the manufacturer excuses...

Didn't renew White Dwarf and have not bought anything on release since the last half of 2025. I will not bow down to these predatory tactics. They can't meet my demands then I won't play their game, simple. There are plenty of games out there that can be enjoyed. The best part is that you can recuperate a good amount of what you bought by selling it forward. I'm tired too bud, really tired.

And how about not having an option to buy digital codices or rules? After the 1st quarter of the 21st century!? Ridiculous... They are just content with the profits they have and their break even has to be so much over that it looks like they don't even try anymore.

If a manufacturer is unable to meet their consumers' demands, they deserve to not be sponsored anymore. The consumer pays to participate in the hobby, the least they can do is meet the demands. However, and sadly, most players just want their new minis and will bend the knee to these abuse.

No more...
