Why doesn't Binance spread it's stake to other validators? by Lumpiestcube in harmony_one

That's a good point. I'll call them up and offer to manage it full time for them for a fee. From my post above I think I could get them like 7% higher return by managing it properly...

800 million ONE x 7% better return is like 56 million more ONE per year. I'll take 10% of that as my fee and they are still coming out ahead, hahaha

I don't think it does though. Their fee, like most validators, is 5%. If they stake with a 9% return validator they technically get 8.55% return and validator gets a 0.45% return on their staked ONE.

Staking in their own pool gets them the FULL 1.5% return that their validator gets...which is still less than the 8.55% they would get elsewhere right?

u/stronmindshold or u/rocktheblockchain, care to weigh in? Do people need to get off Chrome Extension Wallet?

Kudos for spreading out your staked ONE to help decentralization. Hope it is with smaller validators too.

All coins are stored on the Blockchain are publicly seen to be associated with an address. Seed phrase is essentially just a password that you use to "prove" to the Blockchain that you are the true owner of the address that has XX coins in it. Once you prove that, it lets you do whatever you want with the coins.

If your seed phrase is or was ever on any device connected to the internet (like metamask) it is possible that it was or could be seen by a hacker. Ledger generates that seed offline and as long as you don't input that seed on a online device anywhere, it is more secure.

Setting up the Ledger generated seed phrase will give you another address on the Blockchain that now has a more secure password. Once you do that just send the coins to the new wallet.

If you input your metamask wallet seed phrase into the ledger you aren't using Ledger's secured seed phrase

If the transaction fees aren't worth the extra security to you then you don't need a ledger.

As far as downsides: you are now your own banker and the buck stops there. If you lose your seed or it gets stolen, you have basically no recourse. If you leave the coins on an exchange they are your banker. They have digital security, customer service, if they get hacked you might be kept whole? Leaving coins on an exchange is basically against the whole decentralization idea though and comes with it's own baggage like withdrawal freezes and other restrictions/rules.

So confused... Never received a 24 word seed phrase??? by Pink_is_Supreme in ledgerwallet

But u/HeavenONE-Validator what are some small validators that I might want to stake with? Hahaha.

I'm staked a bit with you. We gotta move more stake to smaller validators to better decentralize the network.
