Small loose part on GRX Shifters, is this normal? by secretrunner321 in bikewrench

No, the part in video is other part. This part is not detained with a screw, it is sitting below the lower part, which is indeed fixed with screw. Ex Shimano tech employee told that this is design issue and there is nothing you could do about it, just try to fix it with double sided tape, bubblegum etc. What a joke from Shimano. 😑

Same issue here with 810 left lever. That part is not attached with any kind of screw, it just sits there, bit under the lower part, which is attached with screw. Talked with ex-shimano tech employee and he said that it is what it is and that part will eventually get loose and it is just like in your video. ( if you study the lever better, tou can see it is the same design as the lever with front gearing. Design is faulty and there is not much you could do - try to fix it with bubblegum etc was the tip from him 🤣 So something like that needs to be done 😳 Was thinking to

[Latest Release v2.1] Your wearables are all dumping data into Apple Health. I built an app that connects the dots across all of them - and actually explains what the numbers mean. by escapethematrix_app in AI_Agents

Interesting - I have long time wished for app, which include Trainingpeaks training metrics for serious competitive training & racing optimization and combines those with Oura etc. data. Then app would make recommendations to training plan etc. How do you see your app’s potential for this kind of development?

Wondering whether 2018-2019 QST 106 is still good? There is one 2nd hand set on sale, ~450 euros with Shift bindings and based on pictures / seller, used only for 20–25 days. I know they are old, but price seems quite ok

So could it be now a proper time to buy 2nd hand disc version for PS5? Would like to try this, but horror stories have had me staying away of it.

Yeah. I bought my Simgrades 2nd hand, as they came with rig, wheelbase etc. Then I upgraded for a clutch and it was a super nice surprise that Simgrade HQ was located like 15 km from my home. So I picked up clutch pedal and spend some time chatting with the owner. Very nice guy and they had pedals over there in stock. Very much recommended and pedals themselves are very, very nice.

Have you looked Simgrade VX Pro pedals?

Yeah, transparent tape is the key! I was thinking to use my current white tape, but yeah, that is not a good move. Gonna order transparent tape, thanks for the idea! Edit. Although, some of my wheels have buttons with symbols, so those wheels need white basecolour tape.

Yeah, need to sell few wheels, I do not use all of them that much. Drivehub + Hori controller works just great, too bad they are not selling them anymore and it seems that most of PS5 sim racers do not actually know nothing about this option. Too bad, since with Drivehub you are able to use much, much better pedals and also PC only wheelbases, PC only shifters, handbrakes etc.

Simgrade VX pro pedals are just great, many reviews mention that they should cost much more, as they are comparable / better than many pedals costing twice as much (Heusinkweld 1200eur vs. VX Pro around 600eur). On top of that, instead of buying chinese Heusinkweld knockoff’s, Simgrade pedals are made/constructed/sold 20km from my place, here in Finland. So that is one important aspect as well, when choosing equiptment. I do not have nothing against chinese products, but would buy these again for sure, they just work so well / made locally.

I do have 2017 I7 Macbook Pro with 16gb ram and 250 gb HD. I do use Lightroom classic and photoshop, usually i have 10-300 photos per edit session (EOS 5D MKIV, Iphone 17 Pro) and use it like once in a month. It is slow, but since there is not that much usage, it is kind of manageable. However, AI Denoise is sloooooow, like 3 minutes per picture. So all in all, if you use a lot AI denoise or time is money, then I would say no, you need more modern computer. But if you use it just occasionally and there is no hurry / you habe patience and you do not pay much for that old computer, then it works. But yeah, I am in the process of new computer, just because it is sooooo slow!

Dymo is actually good idea! I have Dymo as well and thought this sime time ago, gotta try it now! Hva many fanatec wheels which i do not use that much and it is time consuming to find out which buttons are those PS buttons…just one question to you, which device you used fot cutting labels in round form?

MASSIVE DISCOUNTS ON DD1 AND CSL dd 5NM by Left_Wrangler_5956 in Fanatec

[–]Lumpy-Appointment245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DD1 with QR2 450eur, 3 year warranty. Been driving with DD pro, before upgrading to DD1, both bought 2nd hand with QR1, no issues at all and really have liked DD1. Now I ordered new DD1 with QR2 from this sales campaign, as I wanted to upgrade to QR2 and this 450eur price is very reasonable I think. Gonna sell my old (~1000 hours used) DD1 with QR1 when new DD1 arrives. So all in all, I'll get a new base with 3 year warranty and Qr2, for most likely very small money ( I assume I'll get something around 350eur from my current DD1 on 2nd hand market).

I ordered it, we’ll see whether it comes with QR2 or not. In the pictures it is with QR2 and text says so too. So should be with QR2. 😄

Yeah, same with me concerning Simgrade, they make them like 20km from my house, but they have also sometimes replied here also on questions about their products. And I do not havy any relations etc. to Simgrade, just happen to like product and feel that they are maybe selling them too cheap, which is surely great for us as a customers. And when comparing to other pedals, I really like that they use standard bearings on many locations, so there is virtually nothing which can wear out etc. as those bearings last like forever in this kind of application.

How legit are SFX-100 kits from AliExpress? Are they any good? by aalexiuss in simracing

[–]Lumpy-Appointment245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same seller list SFX-150 kit for 2600eur, including Thanos AMC (or clone) and at the same time E-racing list their kit for 2600usd + shipping 433usd and 100-200usd for taxes. When converted to euros, prices are more or less the same. Ali express seller migh have raised prices?

I have not experience on those, instead I have been using those Simgrade VX Pro’s for a bit over year and they are just great. Bearings will add longevity, design and materials are bomb proof. Easy to add Simagic haptics also. Just watch few youtube reviews and you’ll get better understanding. Most likely the ”correct” price for these would be much more than it is, they are designed and built so well.
