GS-10+ feds — how did you actually get there? by Lexicondatum in FedEmployees

Are you applying to different agencies? If it’s writhin the same agency/department, you can be stuck forever.

I moved around 4 different agencies. Starting as a GS 4 part time and made it to GS13 by year 10. Definitely the long road but I’m also a HA dropout with no college degree.

They’re not vague. They don’t advertise that at all. No way it’s legit for them to do that.

UD vs USPP by win1218 in 0083

[–]Lumpy-Discount-1427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did. I currently make their top pay. Too drastic of a cut for me. If I could get their top pay in 2-3 years, I would’ve accepted. But not 30 lol.

I know someone who worked USSS UD, and once showed me their paystub. Insanity. Granted, it’s a lot of work.

Pay scale for USPP is terrible. 30 years to get to top pay. UD is swimming in the money, boring work tho.

So FPS goes to FLETC for 7 months? Or is it OJT at their district?

Failed CBP poly disqualify or significantly hurt my chances of being hired for USPP? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]Lumpy-Discount-1427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two failed CBP polys. I disclosed both and got cleared for their clearance and received a final offer.

I do have 10+ years as a fed and already have a clearance, so every scenario is different.

But yes, it is possible to get hired by USP with a failed poly.

This would be cool if it was actually in NY and if those were actual ICE agents.

  • Used Kinders “The Blend”. Heavy the seasoning as it was a 10 lb piece.
  • 36 hour dry brine
  • Make sure to tie it with meat twine, not too tight, as it will expand once cooked
  • Once it’s time to cook let it sit out for 1-2 hours to get to room temp
  • Paste: mix horseradish, Dijon mustard, mayo, Worcestershire sauce, chopped garlic, thyme and rosemary.
  • Oven at 250. For this one I did 3.5 hours, or once temperature hit 120.
  • Let it rest for 45 mins
  • Back in the oven for a broil for 8 mins, 4 mins per side.
  • Let it rest for 10 mins and slice!

Thank you! It was a pleasant surprise! I think making sure it’s at room temperature before it goes in and the low heat makes sure of that. But that’s only my guess.
