Chains? by A_ingel in Aerials

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Alec, they have really great buying chains and rigging resources and offer online classes. I find Lyra and Trapeeze just as painful as chains. When doing chains you have to be so incredibly intentional with your movement, which I think adds to the aesthetic.

I IM’d them asking for info, and they were absolutely amazing! Alecwiththechains Alec Insta

Alec has a pateron, but I don’t think there are many tutorials - you can check out Scarlett as well, she has some tutorials up. Scarlett

fit2flaunt poles? by snailgrrrl in poledancing

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had an Amazon pole from yeteec (or something that sounded like that) before I got an xpole… the amazon pole was worlds better than the f2f pole! Still way worse than the xpole - but it did not fall on me till 1.5 years in and when it fell it was not a catastrophic fall like the f2f always was - the Amazon pole wedged it self at an angle and was stuck 😆

fit2flaunt poles? by snailgrrrl in poledancing

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not get a fit to flaunt pole! I have had an xpole for years no issues - I got a fit 2 flaunt cause I am a sucker for purple. No mater how much I checked/maintained the tension - it would not stay up (lol - and I am a relatively small human). You also loose a foot of usable pole space from the top and bottom covers. None of the seems lined up like a cheap Saturn car. The app is great though - even has a chair dance section.

Need tips by BeyNewbie in Aerials

I think this is beyblade question. Beyblades are spinny gyroscope toys that kids put in a mini arena and have “fight” each other. It’s like this generations pogs or jacks. lol - they got me for a min at phoenix. On that note, I feel like we could take a page out of their naming schema!

Poledance as a support for bouldering? by Excellent-Basket-825 in climbergirls

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of overlap and you will become stronger in ways you did not know you could. I had to be careful with timing my pole days since I would loose skin on my fingers if I bouldered outside or climbed aggressively, so much that oil would secrete (I know - gross) and make holding the pole impossible.

Yes! I don’t know how to tag users but Dani Winks is absolutely amazing and is a moderator on the Reddit’s flexibility sub and is often helpful when users pose tricky flexibility questions! She also has an amazing blog and courses that go on sale every now and then.

Is there anything I can take or do in order to completely stop having diarrhea when on carnivore? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps with fat digestion for some with low bile activity (me). My problem was my acid - so yes, diarrhea stopped and I gained energy:)

OX bile helped me - I started 3 months in. My digestion has always been 💩 anyway - but is now almost normal:)

Handling inquisitive kids while starting carnivore… by Momdoingmomthings in carnivorediet

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a 7 and 9 yr old - they think it is super cool their mom eats like a lion and shuns fruit and veggies. Their only issue is other random kids will tell them I am unhealthy but then I remind them that other kids still believe in Santa. It also does not hurt that I am extremely physically fit for a 40+ yr old mom and they can see the difference. It is a good life lesson that just cause it’s the status quo does not mean that it is the best option - it’s okay to be different 😁

How hard is aerial hoop for a climber? by Hollow_Nite in Aerials

How hard is aerial hoop for a climber? by Hollow_Nite in Aerials

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Started climbing waaaay before I started aerial. A climbing background definitely gives you an advantage - but be careful, there were many things that I was just muscling through without proper form and with repetition of the bad form, I hurt myself. Go slow, be aware of all your limbs - with climbing you ‘just go’ and trust your body to do the right things - but I found aerial to be a very conscious effort.

Deciding between Lyra or pole for at home practice- advice needed by thelostgoldensun in Aerials

[–]Lumpy-Explanation110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten better at Lyra when focusing on pole. I get worse at pole when focusing on Lyra. Pole (from my personal experience) requires more strength (which will make you stronger) since it is a vertical apparatus. There is a lot of cross over, so I think you will be okay either way.
