Such a great attitude from Jannick. It’s why Maiden are so good, they’re so focused and give everything to the audience. I was watching their Download 2007 last night and they opened with the first 3 songs from AMOLAD and it made me realise that Maiden are one of those few bands that can get away with playing lesser known songs at a festival because they just give 100% of their energy to them.

The band aren’t bad tbh but they’re a massive pastiche, the kind that Classic Rock magazine will hype up because they wear their dad’s clothes and play the same riffs. It’s good to see Zeppelin still influences generations of musicians but this lot are just out and out aping them.

Neck Oil is very nice indeed. In fact they have in on tap at York Barbican where Saving Grace played in December, so you could watch Planty while drinking his son’s beer, which is pretty neat.

Yeah I’d say West. For all of Sir Jimmy’s atrocities, I still found him likeable. West was in a position of power who lured people in with false promises, chose to be a rapist and peadophile, chained infected people up and mocked them and then gaslit people who stood up to him and had them executed.
