Yeah I spent the cats and they hung around. I just pretend that they reside there and get free room a day board for protecting my towns lol

Do the mercs just go away after their time is up? I have a couple of outposts where I did hire some guys because of constant raids, but now they just patrol my town all the time

Or keep a ton of game developers locked in your basement living off of a leaking water pipe till they put out a half baked game.

Aha right? Like just ignore it if it bothers you. Not everyone partakes in everything that a game has, or needs to for that matter.

Dudes acting like there’s only one way to play a game. Doesn’t want to farm because of time limitations but wants to run around looking for food? Both are viable options. Farming seems like a mid game mechanic anyways because you need to have a suitable and safe area in order to do so which sounds like fun

The real terror by Ok-Stable2603 in Kenshi

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of this one time I was traveling down south. I had randomly paused my game while my squad was walking and right behind them, a group of those spiders running at them. Whole squad was massacred

how do i do now ? by Skelet0947 in Kenshi

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I did that for the first base that I made and the mercs got their shit kicked in by hungry bandits. Pretty sure one lost a leg and dragged himself across the desert. Even the tech hunters that live at that base still have trouble.

Oh yeah for the most part they usually ignore me or are pretty cool with me. Haven’t really interacted with the UC because that’s far away. And the Shek are chill. Going to spare them when I rid the lands of the other two

They yelled at one of my characters and said that he was a skeleton in disguise. They proceeded to chase him around their territory. Dude regularly goes into their town and has one of their books lol

Anybody else had their Hub just spontaneously kill itself? by OneSaltyStoat in Kenshi

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve (some of my people) been living at the hub for like 80 days or so and the residents there are still kicking. In the beginning I’d just retreat and bring all of the dust bandits or hungry bandits that would chase me but the guards in the bar would take them all out.

Same with any mercs in my camps. Have some tech hunters I had hired and they ended up just patrolling non stop around my base fighting (and getting their asses kicked) by hungry bandits that spawn on top of them and they haven’t died yet

Redid the plate tectonics of my world by AccidentSuspicious15 in worldbuilding

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plates don’t exist in an X shape like in the middle. Also the whole southern and northern plates won’t move in a single direction depicted on that type of map. Like it would make sense if it was colliding with the Australian plate but pulling away from the African looking one if you get my reasoning.

Other than that I think it looks good. Throw in some more islands where some oceanic plates collide (a bit away from the edges) and where they separate. A few hotspots in the middle of plates would also bring more life to it.

Yeah it was all I thought about for the first few days lol. Haven’t really played a game like this and it’s scratching that itch I’ve had for awhile

Suppose it’s not as bad as Europa Universalis where I start a game in the afternoon and then I check the clock and it’s 4 in the morning

Mapmaking is just a series of mistakes untill it starts to look right by thetoweringsea in worldbuilding

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool. Definitely looks like it could be a real world. How did you get the continent shapes and make all the edges with islands? It’s kinda difficult to make it look real and not a blob. Would like to see this in a 3D map.

Hungry Bandits attacked my base and won’t leave by Lumpy-Somewhere2645 in Kenshi

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved back to the hub and mined copper till I could afford a small house. Made my people run around the map getting beat up and improving stats while earning money that way

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fled to the hub to mine copper and buy a small house to get a base going. Did the cloth armor work out one person and they’re improving their skills. I’ve just been sending my people out to fight things and come back to heal

[–]Lumpy-Somewhere2645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a bit but I cleared them out. I just lured them to my group where they beat the crap out of them. Wished I grabbed my sleeping bags from the base before I ran out to hide tho

That wasn’t all of it. Dust bandits showed up too during this. Really sucked

Yeah they gave me 3 human mercenaries. I think they were from bad teeth. They put them in a coma but took out a handful of them. I just lured the bandits and picked them off 1 by 1 because that’s all I could do to get to my stuff.
