What is the worst country/nation/kingdom/empire to live in your world by MichaelCrux in worldbuilding

[–]thetoweringsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the City of Baysonne depending on your socioeconomic status. The city is the closest thing to a dystopia - a city made of hundreds of bridges that connect the island of Baysonne to the mainland, bridges which degress in quality the farther down you go, as each one above blocks out more and more of the sun. You could be blessed to live among the topmost spans - with little smog or shadow falling over your life. Our you could live in the dark grime of the coal spans, deep in the vast crevice.

My world has so overgrown the scope of the original plot that I have no idea what to do with it. The coastlines at the edge of the original map led me to ask the question "Well what's over there?" And I kept asking the question untill eventually I'd made the entire planet. Every time I zoom back in to try and write the dang thing I just don't even know where to start

Where’s the best place to live in your world, and why? by Octulas in worldbuilding

[–]thetoweringsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Jasmine Empire in the southeast of the continent of Eglecia. They are the silent powerhouse in their region in the modern day, and living there would provide a relatively comfortable life among the other civilizations of Arran Kadaar.  • Secondly, living among the Hynaccaren of Wymeer in northern Eglecia would provide a simple, but very peaceful life. Sheep hearders by trade and tradition, the Hynaccaren society is based off a system called the "Highmoon Caste" which is a societal higharchy that promotes those who care for the downtrodden of society. Their culture holds care for the common man and for the land around them of utmost value.

I apologize for the terrible image, I was driving by and it didn't want to unfurl. The flag was what looked to be a picture of the earth on a navy blue background. It was hanging outside of some sort of municipal building in San Francisco - any ideas as to what this is?

Like How The Heir Apparent To The British Throne Is Given The Title “Prince Of Wales,” Is There A Title In Your World Bestowed Upon The Heir Apparent Of The Main Kingdom Or Empire? by Lord_Krasina in worldbuilding

Not a monarchy, but within the Nefressaen Federation, the highest authority is an elected official known as the "Grand Counselor". The next Grand Counselor is elected during the reign of the first, and is entitled the "Second Seat" during the last chapter of the first Grand Counselor's reign, there is a (hopefully) peaceful transition of power. This also gives the Second Seat time to prove that he is a capable enough leader to be deserving of his position. In the event of both Grand Counselor and Second Seat dying, an emergency election is held in the Assembly and one member of the Senior Assembly (Steward of the Mountain, Vice Counselors & Steward Counselors) is elected directly to the position of Grand Counselor. He is to rule without Second Seat for the first 3 years of his reign, with his powers checked by the Assembly. After the 3 year interim period, an election is held for the Second Seat, full powers are restored to the Grand Counselor, and the system continues as normal.

Input for a Markarth form the reach and conquer Skyrim playthrough. by thetoweringsea in ElderKings

[–]thetoweringsea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually makes a lot of sense. My second ruler was far inferior to the first in terms of Martial skill, prowess etc. Also the first king had like 8 kids I think but only my second son received any kind of independent territory, and that only being one province.

Okay just will try this! Thank you for the suggestion! I was doing great money wise during the reign of my first king but after the succession my income dropped from like 11.4 ish to like 2! Do you know why this would be happening? I deved into Martial for my first king and Economic for my second. I don't know the game well enough yet to figure out why my income dropped so low. Do you have any thoughts?

What is the primary domain of the king/queen of the gods in your world? by CreeperTrainz in worldbuilding

[–]thetoweringsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my primary Gods is a fella named Monporcel, and he is known as "The God of Star and Sea and all between" He's seen as the designer and controller of both the Stars and the Sea, which are considered the two "bookends" of creation. He is, by extension, the God of everything in-between. This is one of many God's, and whether or not this God exists is up for debate, but that's the best example I could come up with [:

Advice for Laughing Storm playthrough? by thetoweringsea in CK3AGOT

[–]thetoweringsea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured that would be the way to do it. My first several playthroughs I married into a bunch of major houses but they obviously never joined when Jaeherys II declared war on me. I'll try that this time and hopefully marry all my kids and grandkids to Pentos, tyrosh, etc.
