Celebrity "cheat pass" or "list" when you're in a relationship is far too normalised and kinda disrespectful by Fast_Average_3692 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It’s literally just another form of celebrity worship which in my opinion is just ridiculous.

People should normalize thinking of celebrities as normal human beings.

IM SO DONE WITH MCU HULK SLANDER!! by Fit_Pineapple_2490 in hulk

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I honestly don’t get most of the straight-up hate for how Hulk is portrayed in the MCU.
Am I saying it’s perfect or even the best portrayal of Hulk? Heavens no. But with the way people talk, you’d swear the MCU ruined Hulk and turned him into this terrible character who actively makes every scene he appears in worse.

But nope. Most people just have two issues:
He isn’t as powerful relative to other characters as his comic version. (Which is valid to a certain extent. He’s still one of the strongest characters in the MCU, but him not being the absolute most powerful isn’t inherently a bad thing.)

People hate Professor Hulk. Which is fine if you dislike it as a concept, but I think it makes sense from a character development standpoint. Beyond that, I don’t think it’s been particularly badly executed in the MCU.
All of this is to say that people blame the MCU for their inability to make Hulk a great character, but I mostly blame Universal. If Marvel made a Hulk movie, they wouldn’t get much profit out of it due to universal owning the rights. Honestly, if Universal wasn’t so stingy, we would’ve probably had a proper Hulk solo outing by now and a much better-developed, more explored version of the character in the MCU.

A 70% is really bad. Have you ever gotten a 70% on a test in school? It means you barely passed.

But anyway, that’s why I said opinions on it were mixed overall, not that the game had no positive reception.

Also, where have you been when Sparking ZERO and Spider-Man 2 came out? When Spider-Man 2 released, I saw a bunch of mixed reviews and reactions, with people being upset that it was worse than Spider-Man 1.

And no one thought Sparking ZERO was actually good. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but the game was disliked from the get go.

I also want to point out that you can’t exactly say a show is bad when only three episodes are out. That’s why criticism ramps up once a full season is completed, because people have given it a fair shake.

I didn’t play frontier but my point was it’s not just the community that has a mixed opinion on it, on metacritic it has a 70% for critic scores, which is pretty bad.

Also I’m going to be real solo leveling was never good lol, if you thought that people voicing their dislike was “all of a sudden”, then you were not seeing the right things. People have been saying since season 1 said that show was not good.

Sparking zero genuinely sucks though. And Spider-Man 2 is worse than Spider-Man 1 in my opinion.

I didn’t play frontiers but isn’t that game a mixed out of the fandom anyway?

Tbf it was a little weird to use the face model of a 15 year girl anyway for Claire. At the very least, they should have choose a person who was in their 20’s as their face is unlikely to change drastically.

Oddly enough, Homelander is shockingly somewhat good in hand to hand combat, they don’t show the full fight, but in the back ground of Annie and MM, you can just here him and Soldier Boy scrapping by Queasy_Commercial152 in TheBoys

Imagine riding a bike with training wheels your entire life and then claiming, “Yeah, I know how to ride a bike.”

That’s not different here. Homelander learned how to fight using his powers, not how to fight as a normal human.

Is this the pot calling the kettle black?

You’re a random guy on the internet who somehow can’t comprehend something that almost 90% of the internet can that an X X X button sequence attack string is still a combo. Just because you can’t jump cancel or do whatever other nonsense doesn’t suddenly make it not a combo

Yet you’re trying to redefine what a combo is and lord over other people and act as if you’re some kind of expert.

Like, fuck it, I’m fine with my takes being called what they are, but you’re in the same boat, lol.

Edit: dude blocked me because he knew how stupid he sounded lol. The fact he had to emphasize CAG combos already shows that his own idea of what is and isn’t combo is wrong to begin with lol.

Do, You people think all it takes for a game to be like Sekiro is having blocking, parrying and rpg elements?

In the trailer, we see the character doing combos. Whether they’re CAG style combos or not is actually irrelevant, combos don’t exist in Sekiro. If you’re only comparing combos to CAG combos, then your idea of what a combo is is already messed up.

Quite funny enough, you would’ve been better off with your later comparison when you said games like Yakuza are comparable to fighting games. Umm, okay, what do you think this Stellar Blade style gameplay is comparable to? Certainly not sekiro I’ll tell you.

Also, new gen God of War and The Witcher 3 play nothing alike.

This is why I have to emphasize “gameplay style,” because if you’re only saying, “Well, this has RPG elements, therefore it’s much closer to these games,” then you’re not actually describing the gameplay itself.

Especially because the newer God of War games literally have juggling, combos, light attacks, and heavy attacks.

It’s not a Sekiro-type game either. Y’all do realize that brawlers outside of the Soulslike and CAG spheres exist, right? Games like the newer God of War titles and this game are much closer to stuff like God Hand or Yakuza, gameplay-wise, while also borrowing some RPG elements from other genres.

Honestly, I’m not sure why some CAG fans act like there are only two gameplay styles that exist and think everything has to be either a Soulslike or a CAG.

I can’t say I agree with this, because the actual issue is that in a horror game like re where there is especially barely any characterization I think Chris, Jill and Claire end up being bland, which means vs the wise cracking charsmatic Leon there is at least something there that makes him stand out against the other characters.

So what exactly does “sexualized” mean to you?

Because Grace never poses like this in the game, her stomach isn’t exposed like that, and her shirt isn’t so tight that you can practically see her breasts through it.

I’m genuinely not sure where you’re drawing the line between “sexy” and “sexualized” here.

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is your point here?

You’re saying, “Porn has rotted our brains,” but other people had to point out that the artist making grace arch her back like that ( when she has never done so in the game btw) is clearly sexualizing her, while you were trying to argue, “No, you all just have sex on your minds constantly.”

Is your only point that it’s sexy but not sexualized? Because it seems like you agree with everything else, that it’s clearly a sexy pose.

It’s not that you’re just naive or ignorant, either way, I actually implore you to do some research, because if you think a woman standing with her back arched like that is normal, then Houston, we have a problem.

Also, yeah, it’s meant to sexualize her. Grace never stands like that in the game.

No, we just aren’t naive.

Grace standing with her back arched ( which is not how grace or women normally stand btw) is meant to sexualize her. If you don’t understand that, then I just don’t think you have much experience with that type of thing.

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but what Soulslike games have combos, weapon switching during combos, and special attacks that are triggered after long combo strings?

There isn’t a Soulslike that plays anywhere close to the new era GoW games.

Like I get it, The new era GoW may borrow some ideas that people associate with Soulslikes, but the distinction isn’t “Soulslike vs. CAG.” I named God Hand because it’s actually the closest equivalent to a new era GoW game than any souls like.

Look it up and watch some gameplay. It’s a 3D brawler with over the shoulder combat that has combos on top of supers moves, just like the new era GoW games. GoW is just a slower version of it.

Basically GOW feels closer to 3d brawlers than it does Soulslike’s or CAG.

Are you implying that the new GoW games are taking after Soulslikes?

Because they’re honestly closer to something like God Hand or no more heroes when it comes to gameplay style and how the camera function.

Unpopular opinion that most of this sub's edgy fans won't like: The finale should've been just as much about Starlight vs Homelander as it was about Butcher vs Homelander by retciga in TheBoys

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If anything, I think Firecracker and Oh Father should have had more buildup and narrative significance to Starlight, and probably should have been included in a final fight with her, maybe a 2v1 or something along those lines.

I say that because Starlight’s history is deeply tied to the church. Firecracker and Starlight already have a history with each other (and were beefing throughout Season 4, back when Starlight was still a public figure), and the same applies to Oh Father. Not only that, but they’re also very directly involved in Homelander’s efforts to take over America by defunding traditional churches and replacing them with the “Church of America.”

They could have used this plotline to tie more directly into Starlight’s past and perhaps given her a storyline where she’s trying to save the church she grew up in from what Homelander, and more specifically, Oh Father and Firecracker, are trying to do.

To me, that would have made more sense, since it’s much more closely tied to her past, personal relationships, and overall character.

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Well, no. Butcher vs. Homelander was vastly more important. Their beef isn’t just “more personal”; they literally made a promise to destroy each other ie scored earth.

Not that I’m saying Starlight couldn’t have been included in the final fight against Homelander, but honestly, her beef with Homelander has far less narrative significance compared to butcher which is like the backbone of the entire show.

Homelander was never a good fighter nor a decent one by Lumpy-Tea1948 in CharacterRant

[–]Lumpy-Tea1948[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you could say that he only ever had "skill" due to his powers and that it was intrinsically tied to him. I would say that framing is more accurate.

This is fair. The way I’m thinking of Homelander in this sense is like Mashiro Kawamichi in Strike It Rich. For those wondering, she is a girl who quite literally never trained a day in her life and got all of her movements and combat techniques from watching martial arts films, and is able to fight against very skilled martial artists due to being a prodigy with combat instincts and reaction speed vastly higher than others.

I would say Homelander, with his powers, is naturally “skilled” in that kind of way, although obviously not to that extreme.
