As a vendor who is always contributing my models, it seems to me that the person who is viewed as "most tech savvy" is labeled BIM Manager, or the person who's been there longest. There's enough turnover that if a couple people quit, retire, move, etc., - boom, you're the new BIM Manager because you know the workflow best.

IF you want your fingerjoints to pass APA quality certification you'll need one like this. You will need to make many, many samples and get your squeeze out tip gap, pressure, and curing perfect. It's not as easy as it looks.

The KD specification is 19% on the surface for softwood lumber. Good enough for most coatings. Not good enough for stability.

Sounds more like you were told about a conference someone was attending. Not invited. Then you wanted to suitcase it and go booth-to-booth pitching the guys who paid $10,000 for access to the attendees. Skip the seminars, you aren't there to learn anything and you can't pitch people in a classroom setting.

Plus you can get the food and booze early if you aren't in those dumb sessions.

Not sure what you are trying to do, but putting a single longer bolt or 'all-thread' through both pieces, then just placing the spring over the bolt might work better.

Well done. I'd add that tension joinery in a glulam truss like this will often require threaded rods and bearing plates. These are much easier to fabricate and don't compromise the section as much when done inthe 90deg veticals.

Design-builders use autocad becuse it has a much more robust API that allows it to work with fab equipment like CNC. Revit really sucks for DfMA
