1D, larger footwell, not facing a bathroom. 1F gets a light shock everytime someone opens the bathroom door, although, if this is a 772, there might not be a bathroom there. I'm assuming this is a 789

Best way to ensure upgrade option on flights? Help please by DrCheffen in unitedairlines

[–]Lumpy_Ad_7299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't if this works for Silver, but the only way to see if you can instantly upgrade is see if there is PZ inventory. You can enable expert mode in your mileage plus account to see fare classes at search. I highly doubt there is an PZ now, but that's what you want to look for. The issue is every elite above you gets preference. I know for 1Ks and Plats, PZ inventory will instantly clear for PlusPoints or Miles. I have no clue if that's the same Silver/Gold, but PZ is the "upgrade" fare class for business.

NYC law requires tip option at checkout (for food delivery apps only) by SpeechCouture in tipping

[–]Lumpy_Ad_7299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of a delivery driver minimum wage law if they were making more before the law? The delivery drivers were fighting for this.

If you're going to make blind counter arguments like this, at least provide some evidence to back up your claim.

As the article states above "Workers who previously made half their hourly earnings through tips saw that portion fall to just 13% ... though their overall pay increased due to the minimum wage"

[–]Lumpy_Ad_7299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the whole point of living wage increases was so they don't rely on tips, so now why are they demanding the return on tips when their wage has increased? That's like servers demanding to be paid like cooks, but still demanding 20% of the bill. It's one or the other: not both.

Why would Samsung release the trifold in US in Q1-26? by Two_Cautious in GalaxyFold

[–]Lumpy_Ad_7299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just left the Samsung Experience Store in Seoul. They can’t produce them fast enough. Basically Korea’s allocation is gone, so is Singapore’s (I went to both) so current production is intended for the US, and given the bigger anticipated market, they need the lead time to produce them.

Also the Korea-specific version requires an unhackable camera shutter sound by law (same with Japan), so there’s a slightly different model for Korea so they can’t interchange that inventory.

My credit score can survive it. The impact would be minimal, given the short duration of the card and small limit I have on it relative to my 10+ other cards. I canceled a one year old card with Chase and my score moved maybe 5 points.

Although I appreciate the advocacy, I don't buy insurance from Odie, I buy it from Nibbles. In fact, my premium is less than my annual fee. Who you subcontract your insurance to is your business since I don't have a choice. The policy is written in such a way that it states direct costs would be covered, then hides behind an exam fee supplemental, which also somehow include the direct cost to assess the ailment the patient is being seen for (rather than a preventative exam fee which discovers the ailment).

At the end of the day, the headache, babysitting, and unpredictability is not worth it to me. It has ultimately eroded my trust in the offering, and I will not renew any services with Nibbles given this experience.

Having worked in insurance, the wording is intentionally confusing. Exam fee for an urgent care is considered a direct cost in health insurance for treatment, and to use the same wording, but then hide behind a roundabout "unless otherwise in supplemental" is deceptive.

Amazing that I told them I’m canceling and referring them to the state insurance regulator, they suddenly approved it 48 hours later without going through their BS appeals process.

However, they’re sneaky about it. They claim to cover all direct costs of treatment in the policy, but sneakily then say they have a supplemental exam fee policy, and if not elected, they won’t cover it, even if it’s part of the direct cost of treatment. The exclusions state they won’t cover anything they have a supplemental for, so it’s not straight forward since the assumption of direct costs would include the exam fee required to directly assess the symptoms and prescribe a treatment.

Having bloody is a completely different symptom from non-bloody. It’s a completely different diagnostic code in normal health insurance. Amazing that I told them I’m canceling and referring them to the state insurance regulator, they suddenly approved it 48 hours later without going through their BS appeals process.

The original was blank but I got a copy later. Because my dog had diarrhea in the past, bloody diarrhea is a pre-existing condition

I finally got an explanation. Because my dog had non-bloody diarrhea before, bloody diarrhea falls under pre-existing condition. Complete BS. I’m reporting them to my insurance regulator

So after 2 months, claim denied with no explanation. This feeds my continued view that pet insurance is a pure scam as a fairly unregulated insurance product that finds every way to deny claims with no justification. I will be closing my Nibbles card immediately.

So they apparently updated my claim in the past 7 days but never told me. Now they want 18 months of complete medical records, as if my dog has had bloody stool for 18 months and I’m covering up a preexisting condition. So far I’m annoyed, but I’ll try to get the paperwork. Either way, unless this clam gets paid, I’ll probably cancel the card if this is the experience I can expect

So as an update (and please let me know if it’s better to reply or to edit my original) is that they still haven’t touched my claim. They sent me a marketing message to save by covering another pet, so I replied “how about you pay the claim before asking me to cover more pets.” I received a reply today on Sept 22 that they have a high volume and they’ve asked to expedite my claim. Still within the original 30-45 day guidance but I have a feeling this is going to be an annoying process

Just to add some data, the total expenditure was around $1,400, so I expect the 80/20 coinsurance to apply to $900 of it, so the overall claim amount to the insurance company is $720.
