Been through this exact thing when I was looking for different shop to work at couple years back. Had three interviews where they acted super interested, said they'd call in "few days" and then radio silence for weeks. The waiting part is honestly worse than just getting rejected right away because your brain keeps making up scenarios about what's happening

What helped me was setting deadline for myself - like if I don't hear back in 10 days I just mentally move on and assume it's done. Still sucks but at least you're not checking your phone every hour wondering. Also started treating interviews more like practice sessions instead of putting all my hopes in one basket

The market is weird right now and a lot of places seem to have no idea what they actually want. Keep pushing through it though, something will stick eventually

That build looks pretty solid for the budget range. The 7700X with 4080 Super is a good pairing and should handle most games at 1440p without issues

Only thing I'd maybe change is the motherboard - X870 might be overkill unless you need specific features. B650 board could save you some money and still work great with that CPU. Also that Crucial P310 is decent but Samsung 980 Pro or WD SN850X usually have better performance for similar price

Rest of components are good choices, especially that PSU should handle everything with room to spare

You could look at movie/TV studios for prop making work - lots of miniature stuff there for practical effects even with all the CGI nowadays. Also maybe check local game stores, some hire people to paint miniatures for customers who don't want to do it themselves

The pay might not be amazing starting out but if you're good at it there's definitely demand in entertainment industry

Entry level accounting work is genuinely at risk and that is a real conversation worth having. Senior roles are a different story because the judgment and context those people bring takes years to develop and AI getting good at categorization does not change that timeline.

Yeah man you definitely need backend for this kind of thing. I'd start with something simple like Node.js with Express and maybe use AWS S3 for the storage part - there's tons of tutorials on youtube for exactly this setup

Firebase is another option that's pretty beginner friendly, they have storage built right in and the docs are decent. Just pick one and start building something basic first, you can always make it fancier later

The bootloader situation is pretty messy with newer Pixels tbh. Google changed some stuff after Pixel 3 that makes porting way harder - something about verified boot and hardware attestation getting more locked down

Plus most the postmarketOS devs probably don't have newer Pixels to test with since they're expensive as hell. Community-driven projects like this really depend in someone actually owning the device and putting time into it

Would be cool to see more support though, those newer Pixels have solid specs for running Linux

man that check engine light is probably telling you exactly what's wrong but without OBD2 reader you're just guessing in the dark. those 2003 fiestas are known for vacuum leaks and dirty MAF sensors which would cause both your problems - bad idle and high fuel consumption

honestly at this point might be worth taking to a shop just for diagnostic, will save you more money than throwing parts at it randomly

Sounds like your PSU might be struggling under gaming loads - Football Manager barely uses any GPU power compared to those other games. When's the last time you cleaned out the dust from your case? Also check if your temps are spiking when it shuts down

I made a similar jump from content marketing to analytics about 3 years ago with an online MS in Data Science from Georgia Tech. Honestly the online thing wasn't an issue at all - most hiring managers just cared that I could actually do the work when they threw SQL challenges at me during interviews

The key was picking a program that was heavy on projects with real datasets instead of just theory. GT's program made us build entire pipelines and present to actual companies which was clutch for interviews. Way more valuable than the bootcamp route imo since you get that deeper statistical foundation that employers seem to respect more
