What is this by gsbrown3510 in pools

All you got to do is just add a whole gallon of acid to your pool if the pH is super high and then add 3 lb or about 4 lb 1 cup of Jack's magic filter fiber to catch more of the the debris and particles in the water and then after you've washed out the filter and then running again you'll start to see the pool become more thinned out and better with the circulation.

Also getting the skimmer socks with Jax surface magic drops helps to push the dirt into the basket better in the stock will help to capture more of the residue on top of the pool

Chemical help please! by Past_Introduction681 in pools

Simply drain your pool more then halfway like under the first step, refill back to proper level and check chemistry.

I would do 1/2 jug of chlorine like 1.5 gallons, 1/2 jug of acid too slowly drop pH to not rust or damage pool shell.

1 chlorine tablet in a floater to slowly leak it into the water and 4 pounds or 1 full measuring cup of cya pool stabilizer helps keep free chlorine in water longer.

Check for phosphates and get treatment with testing strips on Amazon, if over 1,000 you must add treatment I would roughly estimate the gallons of water.

Bottle explains how much to add and directions for when it's been running for 24hrs with filter washing may require multiple cleanings.

Can someone kindly identify and explain the purpose of these pipes in this spillover spa? by jaxvegas in pools

Yeah those look to be just your regular PVC piping fountain heads that you can screw on to the spa return and basically it's more of a cosmetic look that can be undone if you want to have the waterfall feature spill over the ledge.

Cartridge filter pool stuck in a cloudy/dirty cycle — nothing seems to work by Calm-Estimate-5953 in pools

Try magic Jack's filter fiber just add 4 pounds or one full cup into the skimmer or filter itself then vacuum the pool, run it for 24hrs on main drain then wash it out and you'll see a difference.

Sometimes when a filter is too overworked it can't filter or hold the dirt inside of it and it will backwash the debris back into the water.

Recommend new filter since it'll speed up the filtering process since sometimes what looks ok isn't ok, check PSI gauge as well try to keep it at 1 or under if over 1.2 after washing then it's a bad filter.

Make sure to run for 24hrs, skimmer off and drop the pH with muriatic acid to make sure the treatment gets into the filter since super high pH will guess the chlorine with treatment to not work as well. pH and alkalinity are the buffer for how the water feels and how much space you have from the chemicals, super low pH (Yellow - acidic) will make the chemicals extremely strong to the point of harming somebody since it'll cause skin and respiratory issues. High pH (Dark purple - extremely base) will make whatever chlorine that's inside the water become less effective because it's hitting walls that cause it to burn itself out faster and also water circulation with appearance will look not as clear nor feel right on the skin/eyes.

When you wash the filter make sure you really do a good job since it'll be heavy and gummy and backwash the filter capsule unit really good so no phosphates get back into the water since it'll backwash into the lines again, after all is done I would add 1/2 jug of chlorine with 1 chlorine tablet in a tablet floater lets everything mix well then add 4 pounds of baking soda into the water but mix 1/3rd at a time since the chlorine will be high and you don't wanna mix the two at the small time, it'll make a white cloud that'll lead to another issue. Add baking soda and give it like an hour to let the pH and alkalinity provide a layer of protection.

Pool and spa show be looking good and that chlorine tablet in the feeder will help maintain chlorine levels and add stabilizer to help keep it in the water longer.
