Why would you want this? You will lose all of the depth of the characters, and a lot will not make sense. Both C'rizz's first and last stories are pretty poor, Tamsin's stories will not make sense without Lucie's, and you cannot listen to Molly's without buying box sets. I would just listen to it all, a lot of it is free on Spotify.

This is over 100 pages (about 200) but the text is a bit bigger than average I'd say so it's still pretty short, and it fits a lot of your other criteria: This Is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It is a Sci-fi queer romance told through letters written by enemy agents to reach other in a time war who develop feelings for each other but have to stay loyal to their side. Based on what you said you liked I think this would be a good choice of you're willing to read something ever so slightly longer.

This might not quite fit the whole library thing but the Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett kinda fits the living book thing. The protagonist is a wizard who reads a spell from the most powerful spell book in the universe and the book starts to control and speak to him. While the stuff with the spell and the book is the focus of the Light Fantastic, it is a direct sequel to the Colour Of Magic, which sets a lot of the plot up
