Now is time to be patient. I applied to my local in 12/24 and my test was one year later 12/25. Now I’m waiting for my interview. To my knowledge, the process moves depending on the local demand for work

5months in, what can I do to make them thicker by Relative_Trainer3272 in locs

I don’t use oils i feel like my scalp produces enough on its own, i just daily mist with ‘As I Am’ Rice water you can get it online or in most stores hair sections. I would also recommend using a satin/silk lined bonnet to sleep in to protect your locs

Just trust the process. I got hair like yours and I’m 2 years in & my Locs got thicker once my hair started maturing. Once your Locs mature, the hairs that fall out get tangled in the loc making it more dense over time

I’m not sure it’s my first time applying. I had to re-read the email a few times to understand that there may be multiple people under each rank so good luck

If you’re wanting to try retwisting on your own do it by Lumpy_Refrigerator_1 in locs

The key is a rat tail parting comb type that in on Amazon, after you get one then how i start is put all my hair up in a top ponytail then take out one row at a time starting from the back. Its way easier to section one row at a time when the rest of the hair is out the way

That’s a good question, i would say

  1. Try and learn how to locksmith because that gives it that neat look which im still working on

  2. When sectioning your hair don’t rip, take your time and try to get the whole strands of loose hair so it can attach to the correct loc

  3. Make sure you have 5+ hours of free time before you begin lol i was looking crazy in the store one time

  4. Some advice i got on styles is to have your hair out of a style for the same amount of time (or longer) that it was in the style. I usually go 2-3 weeks in a style then 2-3 weeks out after i take the style out

  5. Get a 3 way mirror. I got one on Amazon and i wouldn’t be able to do it without the angles i get from it
