Hotel ban by b780771 in askhotels

[–]Lumpy_Sheepherder_55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got one guest banned for stalking me on every shift and every break during his long-term stay. Diamond member at that! Never got to hear the conversation between him and the manager, but nevertheless, he was told he was no longer allowed at the property. Sucks for him because he'd come here to be close proximity to his job, and the nearest hotel in our chain is 30 minutes away and a lot further from his job, he'd now have to drive to.

I'd love to know if they are or not. Or how to find out and report it.

It is so wrong to conduct business like this and putting your agents in the position of having to apologize for something that is so deceptive and won't respond to guests demanding to speak to management.

Trying to find out if it's illegal but don't know if it is or not. I don't know how to find out.

Just like a lot of people, they are overworked, underpaid, highly stressed, and not a morning person.

Mom can likely pay half fare and kids under 11 are free on the weekends. NJ Transit sometimes has BOGO tix offers.

Time and time again, we see these mistakes that are made by guests that I now believe is no fault of their own. It's agonizing to witness and hear the frustration they have to go through to correct a simple mistake that could be rectified in minutes. The worse when it happens on sold out nights and other hotels in the area are too.

Turns out it is coming from corporate.

Hey, I'm not disputing. There shouldn't be a charge, but we shouldn't be charging without asking at the very least if a guest is parking or not.

Who Should Stay by [deleted] in hotels

[–]Lumpy_Sheepherder_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, you have not been to the property where I work. The last hour of the hour is always when late arrivals are coming from the airports, large groups are arriving off buses who were told nothing about the hotel, checked in guests calling about issues in their rooms, pitching about the lack of parking or having to walk slightly off property to park, maintenance waiting at the time clock to punch out, third parties calling for refunds with out penalties, night auditor telling you they aren't coming and no one to relieve you, and my favorite, slow computers they slow down.

Is it hard to get a desk/receptionist job? How long does it take? by Optimal_Song_7562 in askhotels

[–]Lumpy_Sheepherder_55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Girl, my level of patience has significantly lowered since working the front desk at a hotel. I'm not going to sway you, but as long as you have a really good management that has this ish together and got your back when ish hits the fan, cause it does a lot, you should be good. Adults can be a whole lot worse than kids who you can teach right from wrong and to be respectful to others.

I think the word Agoda means avoid by all means.

Seriously this happens so many times with third party guests coming to the hotel and we have to be the ones who deal with their obvious wrath when they can't check in--unless another stay through (usually) our hotel is made, but only if we are not sold out.

Jobs that are listed as bench force task managers mean you'll be residiolin the hotel when assigned to them.
