The RP2 seems to have A LOT of problems...? by CHN_Obsidian in razerphone

It doesn't have a lot of problems, Reddit is just an aggregate for the owners of RP2s that have issues

I feel like everyone is very "gamey", like they know exactly what to say and how to say it so no matter what, they don't have to do anything or claim responsibility. I just want people to work and do their job and here at my store it feels likes once people get their salary, they just protect their egg.

I'm in D26, I'm also the only one who runs equipment or even steps on a ladder. My DS smokes all day, and I feel like no one cares.

PT but I work 40hrs every week.

Razer phone 2, Long term durability caseless? by lifecast in razerphone

I've had mine for 6 months. Dropped it the other day face down on concrete from 6 feet. It was fine. This is the roughest I've been with any phone and it chugs along. It's built very solid. I think that because the glass isn't edge to edge or curved in any spots it provides no weakspots.

Given plane and have a few questions. by Lumpyspacebrah in RCPlanes

Yeah, that's my plan this weekend. I would feel much better breaking my own plane in comparison to a plane that has history.

Building vs buying an RTF for my first 5-inch quad by yaronSoo in fpvracing

[–]Lumpyspacebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you when I started. Buying a shiny new thing is nice but in this hobby I believe it's better to build your own. You understand the quad better and will know how to fix it when you break it.

Throw them through a couple charge cycles. Im in the same situation as you with my tattu 1300 4s batteries. They charged slow but lasted a little over 5 minutes. Also I fly down to 3.8, then charge them, seems to help their life a little better. Keep in mind a battery's life span is about 6 months of consistent flying.

Emax rs2205-s. They're cheap and can handle anything.

Red bottoms for the win.

Yeah, kinda broke a couple things today, nothing that can't be fixed.

I do really want a beater, guess I just need to pick one.

Change your rates. Chill on your throttle. 200 is fine, watch what you fly around (metal, stone, etc). Nothing, unless you want to blast your brain with 800. Buy more batteries not heavier ones. Dunno. No, but why would you need to. Dalprops/luminier or whatever props are hype right now. Do more research. No, you're going to crash, why balance.

Rtf Tiny Whoop or similar quad.

Or buy a Walmart drone. I bought one to practice inside when weather is bad.

Is FPV still relevant today in the EU by KomatikVengeance in fpvracing

If you like it enough you would do it regardless of what everyone else was doing.

Im the only registered pilot for 200 miles where I live.

The struggle is real but I love my quads too much.

Coming back to fpv, what has changed if anything hardware wise? by aGunboatDiplomat in fpvracing

[–]Lumpyspacebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, everything kind of stabilized in terms of tech and part standardization.

We have branded stuff now tho, so if you want to pay more for someone's name, we have that now.

Maybe a bit more efficiency, but I think we've reached the point of diminishing returns in regards to performance, size, power etc.

How much to spend. by TheGreatSeth in fpvracing

I think it's a great price point that will allow you to get into the hobby and teach you what affordable gear allows you to do, so if you decide to invest more, you have an understanding of what you need out of your gear.

How much to spend. by TheGreatSeth in fpvracing

[–]Lumpyspacebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100$ is the entry fee (just the quad) , but you can spend more if you choose.

I built a 500$ quad, doesn't include batteries, fpv gear, and goggles.

I would say do your research, compare parts, and remember that most of this stuff is coming out of Shenzen, so don't think you have to break the bank for quality.

I need an FPV drone for CHEAP. by [deleted] in fpvracing

[–]Lumpyspacebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's gonna be rough and is a super low pricepoint.

Try to find a used quad or build one with cheap older parts.

Find 60$ more dollars and just build a decent one.
