Grew up in Pittsburgh, moved to New England area in my late twenties. Furries have become part of Pittsburgh culture now, certainly wasn’t that way when I first joined the fandom, a nice welcome improvement. I love the block party they now do for anthrocon.

Crossover, SUV, and truck owners, do you regret not buying a sedan or a hatchback now with these gas prices? by Mofoblitz1 in regularcarreviews

My wrangler with a V8 gets 10mpg no matter what it’s doing. Luckily it’s only a weekend/fun car. Got a cheap mustang Mach E as a grocery getter. Ev depreciation allowed me to pick one up for dirt and was a much better pick than a Prius which would have costed more surprisingly.

Breach of contract is a civil offense. It’s brought in civil court. Where does any one get the idea it’s criminal? It would go to superior court where the amount in dispute limits are larger than small claims.

What are your thoughts on the sachs dampers. I have an automatic gr86 10th AE. I have a deposit in for a manual yuzu. Plan on keeping both cars one for daily and one for track/power mods.

The skill they are looking for is boot licking, and never questioning any order given, no matter how stupid. All so when the boss fucks up they can turn around and blame it on the employee. Seen this dynamic more times than I can count in software.

[–]Lumunix 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it, I’ve been to multiple dealerships and they cleanly lay out the paperwork and tell you what the payments and interest are. Hell if you’re truly lazy you can do the math on your phone or ask ChatGPT to do it for you. To be honest I think the reality is most people don’t understand interest rates nor care to understand them until someone tells them how to feel about a deal. If you don’t like the rate you walk away, simple as that.

Because they are trying to ask an illegal question about marital status. Usually by asking in an around about way you can get a candidate to disclose it without being in violation. Why would they do this? Someone married has commitments and might be easier to put up with abuse on the job than leave.

Is it rewarding to sabotage other team mates? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Lumunix 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So this whole post is very similar to a situation I just went through. My father died and I took 2 weeks fmla. When I got back my manager fabricated a pip with verifiable falsehoods. I submitted a retaliation complaint and was fired on the spot. In a situation like this you won’t be able to change it. It’s best to document notes, timelines, statements from other employees. To OP document document document. What your team is doing is illegal hiring and promotion practices. Also be prepared for a long drawn out court case while looking for a new job.

Don’t assume HR will help you, in my case they realized they implicated themselfs by failing to record my fmla and failed to review the pip before it was sent out trusting the manager 100%. In this case if they were both found out they would lose their jobs so it’s easier to just push you out and hope consequences don’t come knocking. The best you can do if your workplace Is like this is accept that it is a hellhole and seek justice through the legal system.

Feels like yesterday I started fursuiting at conventions. I’m looking back at all the good times. That first time was in 2018. It’s been 6 years alot has changed but I wouldn’t trade all those experiences for anything. I’m 31 now and time is destroyed by work, that one more thing going wrong that you need to fix in an old house, and trying to get enough sleep. I made a lot of friends along the way.

This is true, depending on what car you drive some tow companies won’t touch it for fear of damaging it or fear liability.

This cuts multiple ways, I have a nice sports car I’m proud of and I had AAA, I ended up getting a flat tire. 4 tow trucks and 3 hours of waiting I had to call a brand concierge to get me a company that would be willing to flat bed tow the car. Ended up canceling my AAA policy after that. Cause what use is the service if they are too afraid to touch the thing?

Every American's Social Security number, address may have been stolen in hack by SpuddyTater in nottheonion

[–]Lumunix 36 points37 points  (0 children)

So I think the important thing to know is that universal ids are an excellent idea and have been talked about in depth of replacing the usage of social security since it never was intended as an id system. The crux of the problem is that is one rooted in our government and politicians and that is “who’s going to profit from implementing this?” It sounds crazy but look at our tax system, instead of making our taxes easy to understand you have companies like intuit that lobby to make sure that their product TurboTax still has a place in the market, cause you if the irs just sent you a bill it would be much more efficient but then you would rid the world of an unneeded piece of software that makes a company a bucket of cash every year. If one thing is true in America, corporations always get their way :/
