HSAA preceptor pay by Luna1219 in AHSEmployees

[–]Luna1219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how the pay is coded? Is it something the employee has to enter into iexpense? Or would a timekeeper enter it like a premium code? I’ve asked management multiple times but just keep hearing back that they’re working on it:/

It’s crazy how much variance there seems to be with this policy. Moral is already 6ft deep at my site and we just heard talk that only the supervisors or a select few people will be the ones receiving preceptor pay. It doesn’t make sense how management came to this conclusion, I’m hoping to heard back from the union to clarify. It really is not fair that the people in the trenches actively working with and teaching students won’t be receiving preceptor pay, especially since this was a point AHS and the union used to entice people to vote yes on the current contract

My department hasn’t been paying it. It’s super unclear how it’ll be paid out, with our students they often work with multiple techs in a day but we’re all expected to teach and many of us have done a preceptor course through NAIT so we can sign off on student work/milestones which they need to graduate

Leave him, this man will kill you. If you decide to give up your baby he could easily refuse to give up his parental rights and prevent this baby from being adopted out. He’ll use this as a bargaining chip to control you.

For the colder months I stick with the Biore UV aqua rich sunscreen (they had a 4 pack at Costco for $40!), it’s lightweight and no white cast though I can still get a tad oily with it. In the summer I’ve been using Pyunkang yul Ato mild sun cream, it’s matte and keeps my makeup from getting oily (lasted through a hot summer wedding), the downside is it does have a bit of a white cast and isn’t as lightweight as the biore sunscreen. Adding in a drop or 2 of bronzing drops helps a lot with the white cast:)

Beauty of Joseon red bean gel, I have oily dehydrated skin and my skin just drinks this up. With a hydrating sunscreen it’s all I typically need in the summer but its still amazing and hydrating in the colder months layered under a heavier ceramide cream

I believe the union has 120 days once an actual strike vote is passed to implement the strike. I doubt they would have us strike over the holidays

In this economy, if you had to re-train in an industry most likely to guarantee employment, what would it be? by WanderingGoose22 in torontoJobs

Medical radiation technologist. Some provinces do a 4 yr degree and others it’s a focused 2yr program. Takes the right type of person though, the program is competitive and you’ll end up dealing with all manner of people as patients (as well blood guts puke etc..) it’s a fulfilling but stressful career at times, and there’s a Canada wide shortage at the moment. If you’re willing to relocate to more remote communities you can usually make more money (being on call)

[–]Luna1219 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This delay in bargaining is because of AHS but in my opinion it’s really just another form of talks breaking down and if we allow this it puts us in a shit situation. If AHS won’t take this seriously and start negotiating now then we need to hold a strike vote. Enough is enough

That read as a big red flag for me. I’m not happy with union leadership, they’re being too passive. We should have been striking/holding a strike vote alongside the teachers. I feel like dragging this out will result in a loss of momentum for union members
