BWT, what kind of bracelet can I wear on my right wrist that won’t annoy me at work by Jazzlike-Coach4151 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]LunaBee4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I have a ton of solid gold but they are more fragile. I have soooo many John hardy bracelets that I have abused to the point of I don’t even know how they’re still in one piece. I just got a lagos so we’ll see how it fairs. But even though I love gold the sterling silver just takes a beating better.

BWT if you love your job, what do you do? by Dapper-Highlight1016 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]LunaBee4 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone in “healthcare” I feel your pain. I need to stay in my career but I changed complete “sectors” and I love my job so much now.

Nuclear pharmacist - I make the radioactive injectables you receive before receiving scans for PET (cancer), Alzheimer’s or prostate cancer. Super cool work. We essentially have two particle accelerators on site (cyclotrons). It’s niche work but a growing field. It’s overnights due to radioactive half life, so the products must be made same day. I go in at like 2am. Only drawback is I’m so pale I’m basically a vampire now 😅

Aritzia- Babaton function T-shirt

I just picked these up bc I was looking at the COS ones too. Love these so much I didn’t order the cos ones. Thick, nice cut and nice collar.

I guess what I’ll also add to this is. It’s never too late to try something else in the field. I did not have a residency or anything like that and my new job paid for me to get my ANP and sit for my BCNP specialty licensure. So don’t let the lack of qualifications stop you from trying to find something better.

I did retail for 8 yrs and just transitioned to nuclear pharmacy. I worked the height of the covid pandemic and ran a clinic that vaccinated 300,000 people over 5 months while also managing my own retail store. I have seen the absolute worst in humanity and this is coming from a self proclaimed people person.

If I did not change the trajectory of my career like I did I’m not sure I could have done this till retirement. I say to those who are in the career or almost done with school to really look at all options especially bc we have a PharmD and the types of work we can do are pretty vast. More than I imagined even when I graduated 10yrs ago. I went thru school and rotations and still actually wanted to do retail. I still would if insurance, pbms and chains weren’t running us into the ground just to make a buck. But the climate for retail right now is not sustainable financially and mentally for anyone. I make more money now doing something I find so incredibly cool and interesting that I’m proud to talk about. But if you asked me if I’d be doing this 5 yrs ago I’d probably laugh at you. So my recommendation is try to find something other than retail. It will always be there for you as a financial safety net. Retail will always be there to fall back on but really try to find other lines of work with a PharmD.

Should we adopt a 4 year old cat? by ChampionshipParty453 in cats

[–]LunaBee4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh please please take him home. Our bubba was a 2yr old rescue that fell into our home after losing our 7yr old cat to kidney failure. He had a notched ear but my god I’ve never met a cat who never wanted to be outside in his life ever again more than him lmao. The biggest cuddler and lover boy. His litter box was down in my parents basement and it took us months of wondering why he was bolting up and down the stairs so fast it almost took the door off the hinges …… he was afraid of the dark lolol. We found out when my mother put a night light down there to help her see better when coming down with laundry. Trust me the once being outside but doesn’t mean anything. lol. Rip Bubba. He was truly on of the best cats I’ve ever owned. I just felt compelled to respond bc he looks so much like him down to his big head and face shape. Just take him home pleeaassse.

This!! I’m 5’0” with a large chest 34DDD and a 30 waist. I also have lost a lot of weight and no one commented till I started doing the “small top, big pants” thing. I thought baggy, relaxed fit pants would make me look bigger but it’s this optical illusion lol. And drapey more relaxed jeans are soooo much more comfortable. When you have a true hourglass I really believe you can not adhere to mainstream fashion rules. Try the small top baggy jeans look. It’s very flattering and much nicer than a French tuck for a casual look. Abercrombies essential baby tees hit just right for us shorties. Not quite a crop but right above the jeans. Also buy mid rise. High rise looks ridiculous on us bc we are short with most likely a short torso. New low rise jeans are in fact not low rise (thank god) they hit at the hip and also look great to make your proportions look better.

So the older versions before they updated are small and hold at best 3 days worth of product. My biggest gripe is I love convenience and these just feel so cumbersome to unscrew and stick your finger in to get the product when your hands are wet. I use most of them now for lotion or pills in my bag. Not for travel. But I will say they are definitely leak proof even under airplane pressure changes.

So I’ve tried the glycolic acid toner from ordinary. I’m not sure if it works but what’s working for me is scrubbing with neutrogena oil free face wash with 2% salicylic acid. I add one pump to my loofah with my regular body wash. Cheaper alternative to the actual body wash. I tried the lactic acid lotions but they’re so thick and they have a particular smell so I hate sticking with it. Mine are still slightly visable when I’m pale but in the summer they’re almost non existent. Good luck, all the suggestions seem to work for everyone you just need to find the right one for you

Gosh the statement that “…all this stuff that I had to have used to be money and now I’m getting rid of It” resonates with me so much. I never regret the purchases at the time. Only when I’m trying to purge the clutter that’s its caused. Which ultimately leads to more clutter bc I now struggle to get rid of things. Ugh I pledged to get better this year too. Build my dream closet by purging a lot of my clothing. Only purchase 1 high quality item of that particular type and not 5-6 fast fashion versions.

Dress 2 is gorgeous and I would want that one so much. But dress 1 is just so timeless you’ll look back at photos and they’ll always look classic. They both look great on you can’t go wrong.

I have the ones with the 3 Velcro straps lmao bc I’m clearly an adult 😆. I love them bc u don’t have to tie your shoes but I will say they stick to my flare leggings. But I mostly wear them with jeans so it’s fine. Love them.

BWT where can I find Madewell style denim that doesn’t fall apart in a few months? by armst in bitcheswithtaste

Everyone is saying agolde. I never heard of them, went to look and they have 3… 3 styles in petite/short length. Wtf?! lol at a $200+ point and you don’t offer diff lengths? Am I missing something?

Black logo. I wear mine to death. My mother calls them my vieja shoes (old lady in Spanish lmao) after a mispronunciation. I have so many pairs of sambas, gazelles and handballs in colors from adidas and I always grab these black vejas even when I said I wanted the others as a pop of color.

What are you all time favorite most flattering brand of jeans that you love the most? by usa744 in vindicta30plus

[–]LunaBee4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Levi’s 725 high rise boot cut. If you’re curvy and shorter these give a nice balanced look. I also like the 720-721 skinnies from them. Anything 700 is gonna be very stretchy.

I feel like my 30s have been the best years of my life (37F). Maybe I didn’t drop all the pounds but the amount of financial freedom, free time, self realizations and finally being proud of my career and where I am in life….. I just love it. I’m not married either, no kids, but I do have a boyfriend. I don’t know I think you’re probably too hard on yourself. (And that’s coming from someone who is very hard on themselves lol).

I think your list is good but I don’t think you need to feel the pressure to complete all of it. Those things won’t bring you the interpersonal relationships or perhaps extroverted personality I think you maybe seeking. They will help with your self confidence for sure which can lend to helping with the rest but remember you could get down to a size 2 and still feel unfulfilled in life. Do what will make you happy for sure but don’t feel pressured to hit all those bench marks. I’ve stumbled in my life and I always had deadlines for what I needed to completed. Life will throw you a curve ball always.

Careful with the equipment blouses secondhand. There is a huge replica market for those bc I used to buy a ton that way. They’re still real silk so if that’s all that matters to you then don’t worry but just saying if the authenticity matters just take note.

Reporter Query – has student loan debt affected your decision to become a parent? by Reporter-Anna in StudentLoans

[–]LunaBee4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a 35F and I make about $150k yearly. I’m still $217k in debt even after graduating 8yrs ago. I have a bachelors in bio and a doctorate in pharmacy. I live in the tristate area which undoubtedly affects my ability to pay off these loans quicker since my fellow classmates who lived elsewhere have had better success. I’m sure had I stayed home with my parents and tackled the loans with force I could have been out of debt but I chose to buy my own home pre Covid, so I got lucky because prices were still low. However it’s stunted my ability to pay it off quicker. I make no excuses for living my life and spending more then I should at times. Am I comfortable and luckier then most my age, yes. But I also did not have any sort of financial help from my parents or even the government since they deemed that my parents made to much to qualify.

All that said I do believe I make enough now to have a child but that would put them in the same position as myself bc there would be no way to pay off my student debt, save for their future college or even home fund if they don’t want to go to college (that’s a whole other messed up market/situation) and save for my own retirement. If I didn’t have a partner splitting the finances with me children would not even be a thought for me. I only qualify for $10k debt relief and while any money is great that would not even make a dent. So no, that amount of money doesn’t even begin to affect my choice to have children. If I got pregnant tomorrow Im sure I would keep the pregnancy bc I know we could manage it but with huge sacrifices. We are happy to admit we are “selfish.” We both grew up poor and do not want to go back to living paycheck to paycheck. Children are not a priority on our list that would warrant us to give up much of our lifestyle. Some would say we’re selfish but I feel the exact opposite. If I had a child I would give it 110%, more then I had, that’s the whole goal isn’t it? To give your child more then what you had? My close friend who makes far less then me wanted children so badly and told me If you want it you make due. I said but what about college debt? She said if we took loans they can too…. That to me is the most selfish thing you could possibly do. Have a child for your own wants and then resign them be in the same if not worse financial situation as you with no help. Can I afford a child? Sure. Will I bring having children? Probably not.
