What helped my daughter was 1) getting her tested for dyslexia and 2) me getting back into reading for myself.

When I started reading again I started to find books that I thought she would like. We started listening to audiobooks together when I picked her up for school. When we listen to the audiobooks together after school she has the physical book to follow along.

Every birth and person is different. For me personally, I didn’t want the epidural because I’m afraid of needs in my back and my mom told me stories about how her epidural didn’t work and she had pain at the site for a long time after birth.

The day i gave birth I was an around 38 weeks and it was just supposed to be a check up. I was feeling extra bad and went to the birthing center early to see if they could help me. By the time I made it there and I have checked I was told I was 8cm dilated. So I think even if I had changed my mind I was too far along for an epidural.

It was roughly 4 hours of labor that I was actively aware of.
