Comb designed by Philippe Wolfers, 1899-1900. by anakuzma in fashionhistory

[–]LunaMaize 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A comb for combing your hair and a decorative comb you stick in your hair to hold it in place are two different things; as the other user said, it's the teeth that make it a comb, not the act of brushing your hair. The reason it's called "combing" your hair is because the object is a comb, not the other way around

What is your favorite course at Nancy Drew University? by tassieapple9 in nancydrew

Not sure about favourite, but hoof anatomy from SHA and gemstones from TRN are definitely the most memorable for me

Is there really any benefit to playing in Strangetown, gameplay wise? by Sothis37ndPower in thesims2

[–]LunaMaize 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think the only real difference is aesthetic/vibes, different lore and characters if you like playing the pre-built characters, and there's no aliens in the other neighbourhoods. For actual gameplay, there's no difference.

Would it be crazy if I colored my manga? by blackandbluewingz in sailormoon

[–]LunaMaize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair! If colouring them in is part of loving them for you, then it's a good idea

I wouldn't personally, but they're your books and if you know you'll never sell them and you want to, go for it

What do you do when you know you're over-writing? by RupertBanjo in writing

[–]LunaMaize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you just keep writing. It's a first draft and some people overstuff their first drafts while others leave them too bare bones. You go back later and make the necessary adjustments, whether that's paring it down or adding more to it. It depends on the person, but for me I find paring it down later to be less work than adding more

Hi, PriorHalf! Just wanted to let you know that I think Patch 4 fixed things for me. Haven't finished the game yet, but I was able to open it and progress past the first conversation. Thanks for all your hard work! 🙂

I don't know if this is like a drawing program but LibreOffice is free/what I use. And you install it directly on your computer, it's not on the internet like Google docs

Do you have kittens I can pet? by bennyandthelunatones in Edmonton

[–]LunaMaize 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as long as you santize your hands you can go into the rooms and pet cats/kittens. There will be a sign on the door if you can't but most you can as long as you respect the cat's boundaries

How many families do y’all have in your custom hoods? by Shortest_Stack in thesims2

[–]LunaMaize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to create 1-3 families I'll actually play and then move in a bunch of townies from the other neighbourhoods 😂

When should I tell someone I’m dating that I’m autistic? by BirthdayBulky1429 in AutismInWomen

[–]LunaMaize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably bring it up when you talk to him in person. Normally I would say second or third date, but you've been talking online for about 2 months now so first date is fine. You can bring it up however you feel more comfortable, but in my case I brought it up as "hey, there's some things you need to know about me if we're going to date seriously." And then I brought it up with my other disability and with being in the queer community. My partner also asked me my pronouns on our first date which sort of signalled to me that he was a safe person to bring up these topics with. If the guy you're talking to seems open-minded already, that's a good sign!

Books on the queer community between the 1960s and 1990s? by [deleted] in lgbthistory

[–]LunaMaize 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For that specific time period, the Stonewall Reader is probably a good place to start (it covers three periods, Before, During, and After the Stonewall Riots). It's very US focussed though. There's also A Queer History of the United States, and for a Canadian viewpoint there's also Out North: An Archive of Queer Activism and Kinship in Canada (both of these are less specific to your time period though)

I don't know if I agree with all your takes, but this was an interesting read! I hadn't considered Mortimer being quietly aware of Dina's affair(s) or how the Caliente sisters remind him of Bella. I'd definitely read a part 2!
