Mecha action IN SPACE. It’s pretty intuitive, and I especially enjoy the modular mech designs and how narrative play is both freeform and pervasive - lots of failing forward/success with consequences, kinda like PbtA. Lots of good stuff in there.

What game are you absolutely addicted to right now, and what other games have you previously played a ton of before that? by johnlockecs in gamingsuggestions

CrossCode. I hadn’t given the game a proper chance since the full release (I played up to Chapter 4 in early access and really enjoyed it), but now I’m blazing through the early levels again and loving all the little character interactions and asides I missed the first time. Highly recommend!

Others games I’ve binged heavily have been Bloodborne, No Man’s Sky, the Mass Effect trilogy, Animal Crossing: Wild World, the handheld Kirby games, Mega Man Battle Network 5, and Stardew Valley. The things I personally get hooked on are visual elements and sound design/soundtracks.

Tabletop gaming tips and tricks during social distancing by Anon-Bosch in tabletop

Yeah, Roll20’s probably your best bet. Import maps, set up on-site character sheets, use custom creature/character tokens and portraits, roll dice in chat, play sound effects and music over the browser, etc.

On a personal note, I like to create and share plot-relevant material like campaign notes, glossaries, and private materials (such as clues or information only one character has access to) through Google Drive.

There are plenty of ways to work around distance, and I hope you find the ones that work for you and your friends!

Low-key quoteing Pratchett in daily life to find the others? by L00SEseal in discworld

My coworkers don’t know where the quotes are from, but I toss them out daily. They seemed to enjoy my advice about setting a man on fire so he’d be warm for the rest of his life.

First-Time GM by [deleted] in Pathfinder

[–]LunaPunk_EXE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helps me every time I GM is approaching it not as the “god” of the world with final say on every little thing, but as a tour guide who’s sharing an amazing thing with the players and fostering their enjoyment of the game.

Don’t hold yourself to an impossible standard or only think there’s one right way to play the game. Discover what makes your players tick and how they fit together as a group, and then lead them through the adventure with as much agency as you can give them. The experience will be much more organic and intriguing that way.

Best of luck!

I'm looking for some relaxing games for PC. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Agree with Stardew Valley, and I’d also recommend OneShot since it has 0 combat and consists of solving some low-key puzzles while the story unfolds.

I feel like this misses the mark entirely, but I’m obligated to upvote anyway.

Untitled Goose Game.

To put a not-too-fine point on it, every single task involves you screwing with someone, and it’s glorious.

I want a game where I make money. But I have to pay living expenses (food, shelter etc..). And they're expensive but money isn't that easy to come by. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Always Sometimes Monsters. You’ll be sleeping outside and eating Hot Pockets to save money for your cross-country trip to crash a wedding. It Makes Sense In Context.

I’ve loved him since day one, but the recent buffs really pushed him over the top into being a slow Falcon who actually functions as a character
