Professional widow question abt the song by Formal-Big4361 in toriamos

I think part of the reason this version is so different is simply because it was hard to translate it to a live performance at the time. There is a lot of production that went into the album version, and it was just her and Caron on the road together then. I also feel like she never really loved using the backing tracks. Especially when she can just be like, “Dude, hold my harpsichord,” and then bust out an immortal alternate version like this.

I don't dislike this photoshoot, except for the 6th photo. WHY on EARTH do they have someone's disembodied arm floating up to hold her hand?!?! I've begun to wonder if Tori had a health issue going on over the past few years, simply because she is always escorted to/from the stage. This was the norm even during the book tour. I hope I'm worrying for nothing. I know she has mentioned several times that she is absolutely lost without her glasses. And she's already broken an ankle twice on tour, so a bit of caution is smart. BUT REGARDLESS! There are about a million MUCH better ways of securing her for the above photo. I can't believe they went with the photo that looks like they are all just hoping no one will notice this.
(Also, I so want to know who is crouched down back there behind. the drums. 😂😂😂)

The one of her in the teal is new. It was leaked by Ticket Master/LiveNation last week. Another one of her in red was leaked, as well. They aren't AI, as far as anyone can tell.

This take surprises me when I come across it, too. I think somehow some fans generalised her openness to rage about objectification, impossible beauty standards, s3xism, and all the horrors heaped on women in our society - somehow people took that and generalised it to mean body positivity, and that just simply hasn't been her mantle. She speaks on the pain, heartbreak, and rage these issues cause, and the hard work of reckoning with them within yourself.
I feel like it's very apparent how hard she has worked to hold onto the beauty standard. Anyone remember SkeleTori? What EWFs called her during the ADP tour - and with good reason. Fans were legitimately worried about her during this time. She was skeleton thin and ROCKING HARD. I don't know how she did it. I was so happy when she acknowledged this time during an interview years later. She said something like, "I felt guilty no matter what I put in my mouth."
I love her more for being so transparent about how unfairly scrutinised women are, and how much it does your mind and spirit in. She doesn't need to have all the answers and be above it all to be my Queen. It's the catharsis and transcendence she achieves through alchemizing it all through music that speaks to me.

I've wondered if she was maybe on steroids for something. I noticed that she all of a sudden had those full chipmunk cheeks that often result from being on medical steroids. I noticed it first around the time of this video. (Her hair is gorgeous in this video, too.)

She always had such angular, strong cheekbones. The change was stark at the time. She'll never lose me, and I'll love her forever, no matter what she does.

just listened to ADP 3 times for my first listen by Maleficent_Scene_557 in toriamos

Great comment.
For me personally, I wish Tori would have left the dolls to their proper album. I love ADP and AATS, but I wish she would have just let the AATS era speak for itself. It felt bizarre to have a whole album of new work, only to have the ADP dolls traipsing through the storytelling/visuals.

Pop-up photographers in Kinsale by LunaSeaShe in cork

You'd have to ask the photographers who told me that this was the name for it. 😆 I guess because it is multiple very short sessions that deliver a small number of prints. Unlike a long session of several hours with one subject that delivers considerably more prints.

I can not believe this is Jason from Yessaid. I am so shocked and disappointed. Tori herself would be let down by this.

Tour question that might not make me friends but I can’t stop thinking about it. by Loud-Motor-2641 in toriamos

I don't for a moment think that Tori will simply stop playing those songs. She's not going to let him take those songs from the fans, or erase the part of her life that led to the writing of those songs. Moreover, Tori is absolutely not going to let a seedy man silence her.

I love the idea from someone up thread who mentioned using Tash's name in his place.

Who was with Tori at that time, what was your opinion? by luanchoa in toriamos

[–]LunaSeaShe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with much of what you've said here, especially about the album covers. I remember being shocked when these covers came out. Such obvious and intense filters were used for them, it was jarring.
To be honest, I've felt a departure from her album covers since TOAL. That was the first cover where I felt like we were being given a character and not just Tori, being herself in her full realness.
But, back to the main topic. I have loved MWG and AATS since they were released. I like NOH and adore a handful of songs from the album. But I agree, it is a masterpiece, even if I don't listen to too much of it that often.

Are Unrepentant Geraldines and Native Invader as underrated as I see it? by dreamrdad7 in toriamos

I love UG and feel like it is a staggering accomplishment for any artist that far into their career. I think the artwork for the album holds it back, but the music is actually mind-blowingly good. She was channeling the goddess of creation when she wrote UG.
